New Financial Year, New Me: Time to update your templates
Welcome to July. Our calendar year tells us it’s right in the middle of the year, but for those in business, it’s actually a fresh start. And much like the first day of January, we’re spending the start of this year giving ourselves some new goals, new budgets, and a sparkling clean inbox. “New Financial Year, New Me” is the mantra.
Have you been considering signing up for Easy Weddings but not yet taken the plunge? With more couples than ever using the platform to plan their weddings, what are you waiting for? Reach out today!
If one of your New Year’s resolutions is time-saving, we’ve got you. An often overlooked way to give yourself some time back in the calendar, creating a workflow or a series of templates based on your knowledge of your customers can be a massive timesaver.
Whether it’s a quick text, a follow-up email, or a gentle nudge in an automation sequence, how you communicate with couples matters. And the best part? Once it’s written, you can set it, forget it, and let your words do the work for you.
It’s a new financial year! Are you ready to give your business a glow-up?
Templates you should have ready to hit send on
Initial enquiry response
This is the big one, where you can start the journey to working with them. You’ll see an uptick in conversions if you nail this first template. It has to toe the line between enthusiasm and professionalism, and most importantly – personable.
Pro tip: Keep it warm, helpful, and human. Yes, even though it’s a pre-written template, inserting a bit of you into it is important. Couples want to know who they’re working with. Have this template ready to go instantly. Our suggestion is something similar: “Thanks so much for getting in touch. I’m checking availability and will be in touch within 24 hours”.

Pricing and services email
Do you ever find yourself saying/writing the same thing over and over again? What it is you can offer, what your points of difference are, what your pricing is and your whole suite of services? Create a polished, on-brand message that includes all of this.
- An overview of your services and packages.
- A downloadable PDF or brochure.
- A note about what makes you unique.
Pro tip: Include your social channels, which should include some social proof. Testimonials, previous work done, perhaps a little more about you.
Get your templates and comms sorted to give you time to do the things you really love.
Follow-up
The age-old question, “Has this couple ghosted me?” A formidable grey zone that many wedding businesses are used to being in. It can be tough to know if a couple is still making decisions or if you’re out of the running. A gentle nudge and reminder that you’re A) still available and B) a reliable and eager service provider is never a bad thing. A follow-up email doesn’t have to be ‘nagging’, but can be a great way for you to get back in front of them and answer any burning questions they may have.
“Hi again! Just wanted to check in and see if you had any questions about working together. I’m here if you’d like to chat!”
Pro tip: You need to know when to hold them, know when to fold them. Don’t follow up too many times or you could earn a red flag which could be passed onto their friends who are also planning a wedding. Remind them that you’re there, offer up any other information or advice, and keep the tone friendly.
Booking confirmation, what’s next?
It’s a “yes!”. The couple has chosen to you to work with for their wedding, and we can hear those wedding bells ringing. If a couple has let you know that you’ve been chosen you’ll have to act quick, this is not the time to come across as unreliable or perhaps ghosting them.
Celebrate with them as well! Show your enthusiasm in the email, and make it clear and reassuring that you’re ready to take on board their wedding vision.
This template may include:
- Booking deposit details.
- A timeline or checklist to get an outline of a plan in place.
- Meeting info or your process.
