Couples today place a large emphasis on arriving in style to their special day. Not only is it about the luxurious experience on the way to your wedding, it’s also about the incredible photographs your photographer will capture as you arrive at your ceremony.
So how much are Australian couples willing to spend on their wedding transport? What’s the average cost?
According to the Easy Weddings 2016 Annual Wedding Survey, the average price couples are willing to spend to arrive in impeccable style on their wedding day is $1,090.
When it comes to how much couples are willing to part with to create that statement arrival so many seek, the average price varies from state to state across Australia.
When it comes to wedding transport, New South Wales couples are the big spenders – forking out an average of $1,230.
South Australian and Western Australian couples are willing to spend an average of $1,090 and $1,030 respectively for their dream wedding transport.
Australian Capital Territory and Victorian couples spend an average of $1,010 and $1,005 on their statement arrival.
Queensland couples are the most modest when it comes to wedding transport, only willing to spend an average of $865.
According to the Easy Weddings 2016 Annual Wedding Survey, 52% of couples choose their mode and style of transport together. However, for 26% of couples, the groom chooses the transport, and for 22% of couples, the bride chooses.
57% of those surveyed said they’d be booking two vehicles for their day. 24% said they’d book three vehicles, with 14% only booking one. 5% of couples will book more than four vehicles for their special day.
When it comes to what style of vehicle, 28% of couples choose classic vehicles for their wedding transport. 19% choose a limousine, 10% choose a Hummer, 10% choose a sports car, and 5% choose a Hot Rod. The left over 28% will choose ‘other’ modes of transport for their wedding day.
For 2017, the Easy Weddings Annual Wedding Survey results so far conclude a similar average cost couples are willing to pay for their statement arrival. While the complete 2017 survey is not yet published, we predict this stagnant result is due to neither a fall or rise in the popularity of wedding transport. Transport to weddings isn’t exactly subject to trends, as marrying couples will always need some kind of transport to and from their wedding. And as a consequence, the average cost of what couples are willing to pay has neither rose or slumped.
