The Sydney waterfront wedding edit: Four iconic venues, four completely different love stories
2026 MAFS wedding venues
Another season of Australia’s guilty pleasure is underway. Married at First Sight (MAFS) is the social experiment that everyone loves to hate-watch. And although the couples might not always go the distance, or even the first commitment ceremony, the weddings themselves are always jaw-dropping.
We explore the 2026 MAFS wedding venues.
Alissa and David
Two big personalities had one big wedding at Sydney’s Coliseum Theatre. The bride and groom exchanged vows at the bottom of the grand staircase and celebrated their arranged marriage in one of the seven bars available at this incredible venue.
With on-trend deep green florals complemented by pops of pink, this wedding has led to one marriage that has started off right this season.

Rachel and Steven
Anchors aweigh! The nuptials of lovable goofballs Rachel and Steven didn’t take place on land, but rather on the open waters of Sydney Harbour. The Jackson has created a whole new meaning for “waterfront weddings” in Sydney, as it’s now become “on-water weddings”. This opulent yacht takes your guests on a journey through the Sydney Harbour.
For Steven, his wedding on the water was well-suited as his love of boats meant he was equipped with sea legs. His bride, Rachel, was just happy to be there, as the vessel made its way past the spectacular sights that Sydney is famous for.
If your dream wedding isn’t on land, but rather on the seven seas, The Jackson gives all the five-star luxury of a wedding venue on land, but with the twist of the water.

The Jackson
The Jackson luxury superyacht is an incredible destination venue delivering an unparalleled experience for Wedding days in Sydney. With three levels of sophisticated event spaces, you can exchange vows and celebrate in one lavish on-water location. On the shimmering waters of Sydney Harbour, up to 400 guests can marvel at uninterrupted views of the iconic landmarks and picturesque surroundings.
Mel and Luke
Just an hour away from the bustling Sydney CBD, Mel and Luke exchanged vows at Silvergum Stables. Although their wedding was hampered by late arrivals and dreaded chewing gum at the altar, the setting itself was just breathtaking.
So if you’re perhaps not much like Mel and are adapted to a chilled-out feel that allows you to settle into nature, Silvergum Stables is an ideal location for your nuptials. Accommodating big parties or something smaller (even the Channel 9 film crew!), this place will make your wedding celebrations feel simple and honest.
The rustic barn was a stunning backdrop for the rather awkward pairing between the city girl and the rough-and-tumble farmer. But if you want selection of lawns, gazebo, and even dams for your golden hour, the Silvergum Stables crew will make it work for you, regardless of how late you’re running!

Silvergum Stables
Silvergum Stables is a laid-back, rustic wedding venue set on 60 acres of bushland. With a charming timber barn, peaceful paddocks, and photo spots from the bush to the beach, it’s a go-to for couples chasing unforgettable wedding ceremony venues and relaxed wedding reception vibes.
Gia and Scott
For business owner Scott and his Barbie bride Gia, a wedding celebration not just near the beach, but with their feet in the sand, seemed every bit the ideal fairytale.
Located on the spectacular Maroubra Beach, Horizons Beach Venue in Arthur Byrne Reserve has something for everyone, yes – even single mums like bride Gia! Couples are drawn to this relaxed wedding venue for its flexibility and the on-hand experienced wedding team who will make your wedding planning process seamless from start to finish.
This refreshing beach wedding venue is one of the largest and most photogenic on Sydney’s East Coast. Couples have been captured strolling along the shoreline hand in hand, looking out from the private balcony, or taking to their first dance with the horizon in the background. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows take in the uninterrupted ocean views from every angle.
If your chemistry is as off the charts as the newlywed strangers of Gia and Scott, this venue could be exactly what you’re looking for.

Brook and Chris
Controversial Chris might have had a long list of desires for his future bride, the wedding venue was always going to live up to expectations. Swifts in Darling Point is a heritage-listed late-Victorian Gothic Revival mansion that just screams opulence.
For the couple, their connection with one another might not have been instant, but stunning model Brook looked every bit the classy part with this grand private residence as her wedding venue.

Bec and Danny
Maybe one of Sydney’s most photographed venues, Bec and Danny were almost influencers for a day getting wed at The Eveleigh in the Grounds of Alexandria.
Extraordinary beauty and a blend of greenery with vintage architecture, this showstopping venue brings life to your events, with a heritage-listed event space ready to make your celebration one to remember.

Rebecca and Steve
The token “experienced” couple (the older ones of the lot), Rebecca and Steve, could not have picked a more central location in which to exchange vows. Right in the centre of Cenntennial Parklands.
With natural waters, romantic woodlands and this mighty tree as their altar, this venue brought the loved-up couples’ vision to life, as the two connected on a deep level – and who wouldn’t when in such a beautiful and serene location?

Stella and Filip
When two fiery Eastern Europeans met at the altar at Novella on the Park, it was either going to be hit or miss. Thankfully, it was the former for Stella and Filip. This award-winning venue was just as impressive as the couple’s shared love of early mornings and their regimented fitness habits.
Catering for anywhere between 100 – 750 guests, each room is nestled amongst Sydney’s biggest backyard, within Lizard Log Parklands. If you’re looking for a cocktail soiree or, much like Stella and Filip’s wedding celebration, a formal sit-down affair, then the team at Novella on the Park can do it all.

Julia and Grayson
We all collectively sighed a relief when the connection between Julia and Grayson was as beautiful as the impeccable setting where their meet-cute took place. These two found a bond right on the steps of the Sydney Opera House – could you get more iconic?
The two exchanged vows before celebrating in the Opera House itself.
So, although these marriages might not always have the biggest success rate, the weddings themselves were all epic celebrations. Start enquiring about your wedding day.
