We provide world-class live music, natural journalistic photography and cinematic quality film – all under the one artistic roof.
Our band is made up of a bunch of sexy musicians who know how to rock the classics, throw down the modern stuff, and essentially just make your dance floor a fun, hilarious, sweaty mosh pit. All you need to do is come down to one of our Showcase gigs in your city, and hand pick your faves. We also offer DJs and DJ/Sax/Trumpet/Percussion combos …if that’s more your jam.
Our photographers are young, talented creatives who don’t JUST shoot weddings. This is paramount to achieving creative wedding photos. On the day we are constantly observing. Not in an obtrusive way; just in a way that ensures the fun and intimate moments don’t go unnoticed. We also take huge pride in being enjoyable folks to hang out with. At the end of the day, who wants to hang out with a boring, bossy photographer at your wedding?!
With our film, we have worked DAMN hard to develop a wedding film product which is genuinely cinematic and emotive without being cheesy. We’ve handcrafted hundreds of wedding videos that adopt our distinct modern style. At the same time, we also love to finesse our story telling, to create a film narrative which is boldly unique for every couple.

Hi I'm James. I'm the Owner, Creative Director & Drummer with The White Tree. I'm obviously passionate about all things music, photography and film...which is what we offer with The White Tree. I'm also a huge fan of anything creative and design-based, and I love looking outside of the wedding industry to find artistic inspiration for our work. Some of my loves...I love Tarantino films, the ocean, ambitious people, Thai food, old fashioned cocktails & The Beatles.

Definitely! We travel right across Australia and New Zealand! We do lots of wedding gigs in Byron Bay, Noosa, Margaret River, Daylesford, Yarra Valley, Hunter Valley…and many other rural locations around Australia. We love this, as this often makes for some of the best visual backdrops to work with.
Travel is worked out on a per filmmaker basis. Any location that is within 60 minutes of the CBD has no associated travel fee. Beyond that, costs per filmmaker are added to cover their travel time and petrol costs. Generally, if a wedding is around 2hrs from a CBD location, accommodation will also be required, and charged on a per filmmaker basis. Our booking managers can supply you with custom travel quotes when you notify them of your venue location.
Obviously we are not to know a couple’s budget, so we can’t advise you in that area! But in terms of the offerings, the Levels are largely determined by the coverage and length of edits. So, if you’re not interested in having any of the reception covered, then Level 1 would be fine. But if you want your bridal dance and speeches covered, or right up to the final reception farewells captured, then you should go for level 2 or 3.
Here is a rough example of how the coverage of the 3 Levels work…
Level 1 (3 hrs coverage – e.g. 2pm – 5pm)
2pm – 2:20pm: Groom Preparations
2:30pm – 3:10pm: Bride Preps
3:30pm – 4:15pm: Ceremony
4:15pm – 5:00pm: Location Shoot
Level 2 (6 hrs coverage – e.g. 2pm – 8pm)
2pm – 2:20pm: Groom Preparations
2:30pm – 3:10pm: Bride Preps
3:30pm – 4:15pm: Ceremony
4:30pm – 5:30pm: Location Shoot
5:45pm – 6pm: Canapes and Reception Arrival
7pm – 7:45pm: Speeches
7:45pm: Cake Cutting & Bridal Dance
Level 3 (9 hrs coverage – e.g. 2pm – 11pm)
2pm – 2:30pm: Groom Preparations
2:40pm – 3:30pm: Bride Preps
4pm – 5:00pm: Ceremony
5:15pm – 6:30pm: Location Shoot
6:45pm – 7pm: Canapes and Reception Arrival
8pm: Speeches
9pm: Meals
9:20pm: More Speeches
9:45pm: Bridal Dance
10pm – 11:00pm: Dance Floor Action/Bouquet & Garter and Farewells.
* As it gets closer to the wedding, if you feel you need some extra time up your sleeve, you can easily add 1 x additional hour to any level.
Each Level of our film packages includes a Highlights Edit, Cinematic Showreel and a 15 sec Tiny Teaser.
Level 1 (3 hours) includes and Extended Edit of the ceremony and family portraits, Level 2 (6 hours) includes Extended Edits of the ceremony and family portraits, reception speeches and the first dance, and the Level 3 includes Extended Edits above AND a party edit, documentary-style rough cut to your favourite tunes.
