We want our dog in our wedding. Any tips?

Would love some advice! We def want to include our dog in our wedding! We want him as the ring bearer. Are they are any things to avoid or prepare for in advance? Do all venues allow pets? Thanks!

Dear Bride & Groom ,

Ohhh how we love our fur babies ! They are part of the family . Parkwood weddings can accomodate your fur baby at the ceremony and to be apart of you saying I do !  We have reccomendations on some amazing companies who pet sit and also capture amazing pictures with you furry friends.

Just a little something to think about on your big day !

Much Love ,

At Summergrove Estate we allow your dog onsite for your ceremony! Please note, we do require a pet sitter to mind the dog whilst at our venue.

Pets are part of the family so why shouldn't they get to join in the fun! We love when pets are involved in the ceremony, they make for great ring bearers and it's the perfect opportunity to get some cute photos with your furry friend.  We always recommend that your little fur baby has someone to take them home after the ceremony so that you can enjoy your night wholeheartedly without stressing about them. There are plenty of pet services now that you can arrange to look after your pet on your big day :)

Such a lovely idea to include your pooch to be a part of your special day! Some venues do not allow pets inside there venues but do so in the outdoor areas, such is the case with us in the Arboretum. I would suggest to check first with your desired location if having pets is allowed and if so, in which areas and ensure that this area accomodates to what your dream wedding will be. Make sure that your puppy is comfortable with large crowds and noises, lastly bring toys treats and perhaps a special meal!

Having your dog involved is such cute idea, and if you like him as the ring bearer we would suggest to get help from a Pet Chaperone, we can help you with this and forward you our local lady. She is fantastic with dogs and will avoid your dog running of with the rings. Obviously we allow dogs, not all venues do. Please contact us if you have any more questions. Best Wishes Team Ding Dang Doo.

It terms of having your special furry friend at your wedding day there are a couple of things to do to ensure everything goes smoothly. The first would be to check with your venue to make sure they are okay with having animals in the specific event spaces you have booked, as not all venues allow pets, and some only in some spaces, at Hotel Realm for example we are happy to have your pooch in our Brassey Gardens but not our indoor spaces. The second would would be to make sure you assign someone from your family or bridal party to look after your pet, make sure this is someone the dog is comfortable with and also someone that isnt affraid to clean up after your pet, as this is essential for most venues. The only other advice would be to make sure your pet is confortable with crowds and noises, as well as any other situations they might be in on the day, you want them happy too!

We love pets in ceremony celebrations! Venues will generally disclose if they're allowed and where they're allowed. Food safety generally means they won't be allowed in the reception. We always reccomend nominating someone to take your pet home after the ceremony so you're not worrying about them when everyone starts to party. There are heaps of pet services now where you can hire someone to do that as well! Hope this helps! :)
