It's always best not to invite more guests than your venue can accommodate. The time that you bank on having guests decline, they're likely to attend! There is nothing worse than stressing about how you're going to fit all your guests at the venue and most capacities are quite strict and based on absolute maximums. Better to be safe than sorry!

One thing with weddings, you are never sure who might say yes or no. Those internation/interstate, busy guests who you banked on not attending might just show up (even last minute). I would recommend never inviting more then the venue can cater for :)
