Affordable Wedding Venue Hunt – Melbourne
We’re on the hunt for a wedding venue in Melbourne, ideally around the CBD or west, for about 80–100 guests with a sit-down reception and ceremony onsite. Our budget is roughly $12,000 all up for food, drinks and ceremony (cheaper would be amazing), and we’re totally open to trimming the guest list or looking at a Friday or winter date to make it work. Would love to hear from any venues that might be a good fit ??

Thank you for your interest in holding your wedding at Melbourne Zoo. ?? A big CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement!
At Melbourne Zoo we have three beautiful function spaces that can accommodate?seated or stand up style?receptions including a dance floor.
Our venue is also very unique as we have three gorgeous locations on site to hold your ceremony, including The Japanese Gardens, Platypus Lawn and Moreton Bay Fig Tree.
Based on the information provided in your enquiry of a 80-100 person wedding, I would suggest the Moreton Bay Fig Tree or Platypus Lawn for your ceremony, followed by the Bong Su or Leopard Lodge for your Reception.
I would LOVE to get you in for a site visit to view these spaces. Please let me know if you have a few different days and times available over the coming weeks and we can get this booked in! I am generally available from Monday – Friday, between 9.30am – 4pm.
After our site visit I can provide you with a quote for your preferred date and venue. ??
?Weddings – Melbourne Zoo Events
If you wish to add a truly memorable experience to your wedding day, you do also have the option of getting up close and personal with our Giraffes ?? (for the newly married couple only) to get some magical photographs with your photographer present at this experience. ** Please note the giraffe experience is only available during daylight savings.
We also have the STUNNING heritage listed carousel ?? available to hire exclusively for Wedding Party photos only. You also can have the carousel available during your photography tour time at a slightly higher cost, which will be operated privately for your wedding guests.
