About

This beautiful property fell into my lap in 2017. My husband and I had collected years of eclectic, rustic, and country style items which adorn our garden and are the perfect backdrop to any ceremony. Beginning with selling Protea/Native arrangements, we then started Protea Events Hire and this grew from styling weddings to now hosting Intimate Ceremonies here at home. My husband Murph and my neighbour Helena became Celebrants to complete our vision to offer affordable, stylish ceremonies.

FAQ

We can arrange a White Marquee and tailor it to suit your theme for the day. The ends of the marquee open up so that your guests are still surrounded by our lush garden. We will need to pass on a small cost.

Yes, you sure can. We can show you some popular spots, and add extra props for whatever style you choose.

Yes, you certainly can provided that there are no other Ceremonies booked for that day. A small fee will apply.

We can cater for up to 45 guests on both properties.

There are Rest Rooms available on both properties.

There is a PA System available as part of our package.  You may manage the music of your choice by Bluetooth.  This can all be arranged with the Celebrant.

The properties are on a slope and this could be difficult for the elderly.  We have a small vehicle that can easily transport guests to the desired Ceremony location.  

There is a small pond and it is not fenced.  Children would need to be supervised in its vicinity.  It is shallow and often has ducks floating.

Furry friends are most welcome to all of our ceremonies.  They would need to be on a leash.

Yes both properties offer a dressing room and bathroom for upto one hour before Ceremony. This is part of your $1600 package. If you would like the use of these rooms for an extra 2 hours for Hair & Make-up, there will be a cost of $200. Would need to be locked in prior to the day.

Gwen was so amazing with helping us add all the special extras to our wedding day that we needed. Daytime venue - Mornington Peninsula

Looking for a small, quaint venue based in SE Melbourne, preferably on the Mornington Peninsula. Luncheon with ceremony on site, we are planning for a mid July wedding so want to make the most of the winter daylight. We dont need exclusive use, just somewhere with a private area. Maximum of 35 guests, including 10 children.

We are located on the fringe of the Mornington Peninsula. We offer Intimate Ceremonies with a personal touch. Included is our choice of Celebrants Helen or Murph. Our properties of four acres have all types of photo opportunities. Being Winter we can't control the weather but we can arrange a white marque. With garden views which ever way you look. We have facilities for any style you are desiring. Our huge collection of props are available on site for you to choose from. Home grown Protea arrangements for your liking. We grow an extensive range of natives to compliment your style. For your Luncheon we can transport you all to a local vineyard or restaurant. Our Special package is $1600 you can find on our page.
