With an abundance of natural light and sweeping views across iconic Canberra places, the venues at the National Arboretum Canberra are world class.

We may be biased, but we are lucky enough to have the best views in Canberra. With panoramic views of Canberra’s sweeping scenery your guests will be blown away by the sights of blossoming trees in spring, the colours of red and orange leaves in autumn, snow-capped mountains in winter, all the vibrant greens of summer – whatever the time of year, you’ll find the National Arboretum to be a breath of fresh air.

The National Arboretum was proud to win Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice award in 2023 as well as several nationally recognised awards and nominations. The Ginger Group was also recently awarded 2023 Wedding Caterer of the Year in the Host Plus Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence 2023 and awarded Wedding Venue – Unique in the Wedding Industry Awards™

Absolutely! If you or your guests have any dietary requirements, with the exepction of Kosher, our kitchen will happily accommodate them.

April 2024

Arboretum was the best place to do our wedding because I’ve been to a lot of weddings in my life, but there was just something special about this one, and it wasn’t just because it was mine 🙂 It was wonderful to see our celebrant and witnesses not only enjoying our wedding, but afterwards being able to go out and enjoy the beautiful view and gardens with our families. From their social media posts, I could see they fell in love with it. It felt good to bring awareness to my in-laws who would be back and would tell their friends and families about it.

The staff were completely professional and the food, wine and beer were all lovely. We were able to pick our menus and they responded to queries promptly. We were in the Margaret Whitlam Pavilion, which was a lovely relaxed venue.

We want our dog in our wedding. Any tips?

Would love some advice! We def want to include our dog in our wedding! We want him as the ring bearer. Are they are any things to avoid or prepare for in advance? Do all venues allow pets? Thanks!

The Ginger Group at The National Arboretum Canberra

Such a lovely idea to include your pooch to be a part of your special day! Some venues do not allow pets inside there venues but do so in the outdoor areas, such is the case with us in the Arboretum. I would suggest to check first with your desired location if having pets is allowed and if so, in which areas and ensure that this area accomodates to what your dream wedding will be. Make sure that your puppy is comfortable with large crowds and noises, lastly bring toys treats and perhaps a special meal!

Anything we need to consider/do differently for a weekday wedding?

Hi there. We're considering a weekday wedding, maybe a Thursday or Sunday. Is there anything ] different or unexpected we'd need to consider about having a non-Saturday wedding?

The Ginger Group at The National Arboretum Canberra

Your wedding would be, in terms of the event, pretty much the same whether is on a weekday than a weekend, however, two key factors that you should consider are costs, some venues offer cheaper rates for events on a weekday; but perhaps I would consider the availability of your desireed attendees, a weekend wedding would give most of your invitees the oportunity to enjoy your special day and having a day to recover, this can be even more important when considering interestate or overseas guests.
