Would it be possible to have long tables and round tables in the Barn?

Yes you are welcome to have either round or long tables, both are included in our packages as well as Gold Chiavari Chairs.

You can upgrade to up to Victoria Ghost Chairs for $1.50 per chair.

When should I have all my ideas organised so it’s easier for everyone?

6 weeks before your wedding you should have filled out all documents from the final information folder & uploaded them to your personal portal. Please make sure you have spoken to your caterer about any extra charges you might incur (see extras pricing list).

You should also have a rehearsal and final run-through organized by then and have let us know B&B occupancy.

6 weeks before your wedding the full payment should also have been made.

If we wanted to change the lighting to the provided lighting is that okay?

We believe Venue Productions and AMUSE are the best in Adelaide for your lighting needs.

Are dried flowers okay to be thrown at the ceremony?

Yes fresh or dried petals are allowed, any synthetic confetti (even paper) is strictly forbidden.

What colour napkins & tablecloths are available?

Can we have the dance floor outside in the Hayshed?

Yes you are welcome to organize a dancefloor in the hayshed, electricity is available here however a PA system has to be organized for both the “Under croft” and the “Hayshed” dancefloors.

We are undecided about the optional chandeliers at this point. Can I ad them to the invoice closer to the date?

Yes the chandeliers being an upgrade to our standard track lighting come at a cost of $100 each or $400 for all 5.

How do you get people from one area to another? For example, from the Homestead Lawn where you have canapes to the reception area in the Barn?

Generally speaking the catering staff will help you move guests throughout the evening however it is a very good idea to get your MC to help in crucial moments as well.

If it’s raining is the backup plan to ceremony and canapes in the Hayshed?

Yes that is correct, if the weather is unsure we will set both the hayshed and the garden area you have chosen so you have both options available until the last moment.

Are we allowed to have a bottle of wine on the table when the guests come into the barn or does the caterer pour it?

Wine bottles will be on the tables however the Caterer will also pour it throughout the evening, generally after dessert bottles are consolidated at the bar to avoid too many open bottles at the end of the evening.

Can we supply our own props?

You are most certainly encouraged to do your own decorations & props.

Is the Hayshed Fire on during the night?

Yes – unless there is no need for it (a very hot summer night) or a fire ban.

I understand tables, chairs, tablecloths and napkins, crockery, cutlery and glassware are all included in the price for the barn ... am I missing anything else I’ll need to take care of?

No you would just have to organize any and all AV – Decorations on the tables & Drinks.

Does AL RU Farm supply a wedding coordinator on the day?

We are here to help you through the planning process up to the day itself, once the caterer arrives we hand over to them.

For the rest of the evening you will have the catering staff to refer to for any issues.

Can we have the chickens, and Guinea fowl roaming? (I love them)

The chickens and all other animals are generally speaking out during the day but locked up when dusk sets in, this is to ensure their and the guests safety.

I also saw the hire of umbrellas needs to be organised at a later date? Are these with yourself and for what price? In addition is there any other cost associated with the lawn for example, the bar? chairs? table? tubs of water?

Umbrellas are $75 each and are white, 4200 in diameter. All other furniture on the homestead lawn is included in the price. Please note the homestead lawn is fully shaded by about 4 pm any time of the year.

For smokers, where do they go?

AL RU Farm gardens are all NON SMOKING – please ensure your MC makes it clear smoking is not allowed in the gardens under any circumstance, all smoking will have to be restricted to the Hayshed area.

Any cigarette butts found on the ground will incur a cost of $1 per butt which will be taken off your bond.

What sort of bar do we have outside for the canapés?

We generally speaking have a trestle table with a white table cloth.

Can I hold my ceremony or reception at a different venue?

AL-RU Farm Pty Ltd

Yes, of course you can. Please let us know which part of your wedding day you would like to hold at AL RU Farm whether it be just the ceremony, or just the reception - otherwise both!

How late can I confirm last minute numbers?

AL-RU Farm Pty Ltd

At the latest, two weeks before the day, the final numbers are due. If you add any numbers after the two weeks – that is fine. Within the 14 days before your wedding, any guests decide to drop out, you must still pay the full and initial amount.

I saw that place names, bonbonnieres, menus and centrepieces are also an option... Can I know more about this?

We do not supply any of these but are happy to help you with the setup of them on the tables. Please ensure clear instructions and pictures are provided for our staff and place cards are in order of appearance on the tables.

Do I need to organise vases for the bridal table for the bouquets?

Yes all decorative items are to be organized by you.

I did read in the brochure you offer a “10% discount for Friday and Sunday bookings for 100 adult guests or more“ is this still an option?

Yes if you have 100 or more ADULT guests and your wedding is on Friday or Sunday the 10% discount would be applied.

I understand from when we met in person a minimum 70 is required on Friday’s? I still think our guest list will be closer to 100 but if it was to drop under, the minimum is still 70?

That is correct – the minimum number would remain on the invoice even if you only end up having less guests.

How do seating plans work?

We have uploaded floor plans of our venues to OneDrive. Please download, and draw your seating plan onto these floor plans. Don’t stress, you can print and scan, or draw directly onto the file - whichever suits your skills best!

*This can be amended as late as one week prior to your event

**Please remember to tell us the position of any extra tables such as: cake table, guestbook and gifts-table; and/or any large props you may use such as a photo-booth, large floor lighting (large lettering ie. “Mr&Mrs”)

We might potentially have a few children (3-11 year old) coming to the wedding. The brochure said they could be fed at $35 along with suppliers. Is this still the correct number?

I understand the whole package will run from 4.30 -11.30 and additional prices apply there after? Do most weddings finish on time? Should I look into extra time?

Our packages include 7 hours – from the start of the ceremony to guest departure. Extra time will have to be organized before the event itself, on the night the catering staff will ensure the run sheet is enforced.

We have selected the “Banquet to table” which I’m hoping to organise canapes/entrée (roving entrée) out on the lawn before sitting down in the barn. This won’t involve any lawn reception payments will it?

I would love to use some of the homesteads antique collection including the green coloured Butcher’s Block Table, antique French Counter, wire frame Cocky’s Cage (wishing well), I will talk to you about this closer to the date.

As much as I like the look of the long tables I would much rather have round tables in the barn. With 100 people do you think we can make this work?

Round tables would be less space efficient, 100 would be the absolute maximum we could fit on round tables I the barn.

I didn’t realise the wood slat chairs come as an extra cost 48 at $2.50 per chair. We may still go ahead with this but if I have say a family friend with chairs can I bring those up instead or do I need to use your options?

The Wood Slat Chairs are only an extra charge if you would like us to set them up – you are welcome to set them up yourselves at no cost. 48 White Lawn chairs are included in the price.

I understand the run sheet would indicate last drinks and cessation of music by 11.00... is that when I should also have the bus picking up people? Say 11.10?

If the event is set to finish at 11.30 you would get them to arrive at 11.15 and leave at 11.30. Last drinks and music stopped (or put very low on the back ground) at 11.00.

I understand spirits will require additional bar staff, but all other bar staff are included?

Yes correct, all staff is included for drinks unless you are having spirits in which case it would be $2.50 per head.

I understand Suppliers must make appointment times for delivery with AL RU Farm staff. Pick up must be no later than 9.30 am the following day unless previous arrangements have been made with AL RU Farm. Does 9.30 also apply to us leaving on Saturday morning?

Yes that is correct, you can start setting up at 9.30 AM on the day of your wedding and all decorations & left over drinks have to be off premises by 9.30 the next morning.

How many toilets are on site?

We are currently building a second toilet block which will be finished by August 2018. There will be a total of 8 toilet booths at that point of which 1 disabled access toilet.
