Have you guests learn to dance together!

Having a social dance instructor come to your reception will give you guests a different experience than most.

This includes everyone, and is a wonderful ice-breaker for guests who haven't officially met yet. They can learn to Swing, or Salsa, or Cha Cha to name a few, but they all have fun, and are ready to jump onto the dance floor when your band or Dj starts to play!

Include as much personal involvement and interaction with your guests as possible so that it is very special for everyone, not just you. Get your family and guests involved in the wedding as much as you can, for example a wedding cake made with love by a family member or friend is much more special and meaningful than a purchased cake. How proud and pleased a family member to provide some flowers from their garden, even if just for the men’s buttonholes. My neighbours had an older fashioned wedding recently, instead of being the last to arrive at the reception they were the first and they and their parents made a receiving line at the door and welcomed every guest as they arrived. Best wishes!

Consider the guests you have attending and what would truly surprise and delight them. How can you take them out of their comfort zone? Can you create memories from experiences they wouldnt have in their day to day life? Think of the arts, cultural experiences, involving them and a stranger at the wedding in something creative and fun.
