The Edit includes a three-day rental and an edited wedding film, while The Archive gives you five days, two camcorders and short-form social clips. For weddings in NSW, The Director’s Cut includes on-site filming by founder Christine.
Once the celebrations are over, simply return the camcorder and let the Vow Edit Co. team take care of the edit. Every package includes your raw footage, with shipping and returns included across Australia and New Zealand. Raw footage is typically delivered within two days of receiving your SD cards, while edited wedding films average a two to three-week turnaround.
How Vow Edit Co Wedding Camcorder Hire Works
Four Steps. One Wedding Weekend. Your camcorder is delivered to your door, you and your guests capture the day, then you send it back for your footage to be returned and edited.
01. Reserve Your Wedding Dates
Choose your wedding weekend using the online date picker and Vow Edit Co will reserve your dates. Changes are free up to 14 days before your booking, giving you flexibility if plans shift.
02. Your Camcorder Is Shipped to Your Door
Your wedding camcorder kit is sent via tracked AusPost or NZ Post during the week of your wedding. Inside, you’ll receive a tested camcorder, SD cards, charger or chargers, spare batteries, a simple printed filming guide and a few snacks.
03. You and Your Guests Film the Day
Hand the camcorder to a sibling, friend, parent or anyone you trust to capture the moments around them. Simply press record and start filming. The included guide explains how to use the camcorder in under two minutes, so your guests can focus on the celebration rather than the equipment.
04. Send It Back and Keep Your Wedding Footage
Once your rental ends, place the camcorder kit in the prepaid return satchel or box and drop it at AusPost. When Vow Edit Co receives the kit, your footage is returned to you so you can keep the moments captured throughout your wedding forever.

We come to you and film on the day, so all you need to do is be there. We shoot on 1–2 camcorders and edit it into a 5–7 minute film, with all your raw footage included. Social clips can be added on.

we don't see it as either/or, because everyone captures a different angle. your photographer freezes the moment in a photo, your videographer films the big moments, and the camcorder catches everything in between: the laughs, the side conversations, and the cocktail hour while you're off filming with your videographer. together, they tell the whole story.
don't get us wrong, if your friends or filming squad aren't committed, it won't work. but of the weddings we've done so far, not one has come back with fewer than 100 amazing clips, and on average we see 150+ per wedding.
no, and that's the whole point. hand it to your best mate, your sibling, your dad, anyone with reasonably steady hands. press the red button when something's happening, and stop when it isn't. the one-page guide in the box covers everything in under two minutes.
the archive ($599) is our most popular. you get two camcorders over a 5-day rental, so you can have one up the front for the vows and one moving through the crowd. you also get a 5–7 minute edited film, short clips for socials and all your raw footage. if one camcorder and a 3-day rental is all you need, the edit ($399) suits most weddings beautifully. not sure? send us a dm or email and we'll help you figure it out.
one person who isn't in the wedding party works best, so they can move around freely (although we have many where a bridesmaid has one, and another friend has the other if you're renting two). that said, lots of couples pass it around between guests and the results are brilliant. there's no wrong way.
for australian orders we ship via express post 3–5 business days before your rental starts for major cities, and 5+ business days ahead for regional and remote towns, so your kit arrives at least 2 business days before your rental starts. for new zealand orders we ship 2 weeks ahead for major cities, and earlier again for more remote towns. we'll confirm your dispatch date when you book.
absolutely, this happens all the time. just pop their details in the shipping field at checkout and we'll send it straight to them. make sure you add their email too if you'd like them to get the shipping updates.
we send your camcorder via tracked express post with auspost (australia) or nz post (new zealand) so it arrives at your door before your wedding. once it arrives, we'll email you a return slip for sending it back.
pack everything back into the box it came in (so hang on to the box and all the packaging), tape it back up and drop it at auspost. if your camcorder arrived in a satchel, you can reuse that too. just pop on the return slip we emailed you and you're done.
please drop it at auspost within 1 day of your rental ending for the classic, or within 2 days for the edit and the archive. that way it's back with us in time for the next couple. nearly half of our couples give everything to a freind and they can drop it off too.
warm, natural, with a vintage twist and true to the day. we edit to the feel of the footage rather than a polished highlight reel set to generic music. you can see real examples on our website, and if you have editing preferences (or music too), we sent you a few questions before we start to ensure what we create is true to what you envision!
it hasn't happened yet, but if there's ever a courier issue we'll be in touch straight away to sort it. that's why we build in buffer time, especially for nz.

yes. the raw footage from the sd cards is sent to you as soon as we receive the camcorder back. it's yours forever.
edited films are delivered within 2–3 weeks of us receiving the camcorder back, however during peak season this may be an extra week, but we always do our best to be as efficient as possible and update you along the way.
