Fiona grew up with chooks, canaries and budgerigars. While looking for a hobby for her young son, a racing pigeon flyer gifted four pairs of pure white racing pigeons which became the foundation of the White Dove Release Business. The son grew up and lost interest, so Fiona continued breeding more birds and now has a flock of trained pure white homing pigeons. From there Fiona has been networking, educating and sharing this amazing experience of releasing trained white homing doves to fly home

After you have reserved your white dove release, write down how you envision your dove release. Share this with us so that we may coordinate your wishes into the ceremony. A White Dove Release can be very flexible and we want to make it come as close as possible to fulfil your dreams.
You might consider reading a beautiful poem before your dove release. Either have your officiate read it or choose a close friend or family member. This will make it extra special.
Make sure your officiant knows you will be having a dove release and give a copy of the poem to whoever will be reading it. Are they doves?
It’s unethical to release true doves that are domesticated, they fall prey to the environment, which is dehydration and predators.
We use pure white homing pigeons which have strong flying ability, and are descended from the Columba Livia rock dove.
Where do the doves go when released?
The doves have been trained to return to their home loft. People often ask if all doves will fly home. NO, only those that have been properly bred with the "homing" instinct and correctly trained.
How do they know where "home" is?
Nobody really knows. But a well-trained dove can navigate 100's of miles to find the way home.
Will they make a mess at the ceremony?
The birds have a special diet before big events so they can perform at top levels without "messing up".
When will the birds be released?
This is entirely up to you! There can be a lot of creativity in the timing and location of your release. We will discuss that with you during the planning of the event. We never release birds close to sunset or after dark. They must have time to fly home before dark.
What if it rains on the day of our ceremony?
For 'Acts of God' such as rain, high winds or other adverse situations, we reserve the right to cancel the dove release. We will not jeopardize the health and well-being of our beloved doves. In this event all deposits are fully refundable.
