Hiring a Day-Of Coordinator!  LOL.... in all seriousness here's a list of some things, but it all depends on where you're getting married:

  • how will your bags get from where you're getting ready to where you're staying?
  • who is checking everything is done at the venue (including the venue!)?  I recently did a "Set-Up Only" for a couple, where I was responsible for a few specific items only.  The balloon arch was installed, the supplier left, but it started falling down.  Although it was not something I was involved in, I jumped in and fixed it up, because the venue staff were "too busy to spare anyone to fix it".
  • make sure you've stepped through EVERYTHING with suppliers.  I came in as a Day-Of Coordinator for a couple who had arranged dry ice for their first dance.  When I contacted all of the suppliers to finalise details, the supplier had expected that he was turning up with his trolley at 9:30pm and wheeling it through the reception to set it up.....ummm, no!
  • make sure your seating list is in alphabetical order.  Your guests will stand there for too long looking through each table to find their name if its in table order
  • get someone (not your bridesmaids or Mum) to meet you as you get out of the car at the ceremony so they can take your lipstick, phone, etc
  • wear a button up top when you're getting ready.  No good going to all that trouble with your hair and make-up just to ruin it by taking off that round neck t-shirt

That's just a few to help you along!
