How do i invite guests to my ceremony but NOT my reception?

I have quite a few friends i want to attend my ceremony, but i wanted to keep my reception intimate with just close family and friends. how do i tell people they can come to the ceremony but not the reception??

This actually happens a lot. What I have found works best, is to create a invite just for those who you would like to come to the ceremony.

Most people will appreciate the fact that they have been invited. The ceremony is the most important part and if you tell them that you'd love to have them come, I can't imagine them being annoyed with that!

Please feel free to make contact with me if I can help you with anything else.

How do we work out our wedding day schedule

Just looking for some advice for planning our wedding day schedule, please?

Hi Michelle,

If you send me the start time of your ceremony and reception, I would be happy to send you a schedule. You could use it as an example or manipulate it to suit your needs.

Is it ok to have a few hours gap between the ceremony and reception?

I have friends and family travelling from overseas for the wedding. Day will start around 9ish with a bride pick up and wedding "gate crash" followed by tea ceremony and actual wedding ceremony around 12.30. Reception won't be until 6pm. Is that too long a break? My mum and rellies would like to refresh prior to reception and change clothes so they don't mind the gap but not sure what others will think...

No, it's not a problem.

It gives you're guests time to freshen up and have lunch. A lot of weddings get spaced out like this.

Please feel free to contact me, should you have any further questions.

Alternatives to rose petals/bubbles after the ceremony

Hi there, Does anyone have any ideas for alternatives to rose petals and bubbles that our guests can throw after the ceremony? Thanks in advance :)

Maybe Balloons?

Your guests could write a wishful message for you and your partner and those wishes could be released into the sky. I know it's not something that you throw but I've done this before and it's a great alternative. Also, the balloons fly away, so there nothing to clean up and most venues won't have an issue with that.

All the best and good luck with everything.

Please feel free to contact us should you have anymore questions.

DIY Catering. To do or not to do?

We have an informal venue already booked. Their in-house catering is not good but we can't bring in outside caterers. Have lots of friends willing to help. Having a meat/cheese/antipasto style buffet out but wondering what other options we could make ahead of time and bring in and heat up as hot canapes and buffet style meal for later?

Hi Nicole,

Congratulations! All this best to you and your partner.

Have you got access to kitchen facilities heating and cooling? How many guests? What time of the day? And is it a sit down or standing event?

I have a list of foods I'd be happy to send you but have you considered other options?

What if you had an outside caterer prepare the food offsite? Would that be a possibility? I have a few wonderful contacts that would be willing to do this. They would deliver to any location in Melbourne, and you'd have a combination of hot and cold food. They are extremely affordable (depending on what your after) and it would mean that you, your family and your friends wouldn't be stressing about it.

Please contact me on my profile if you require anymore help.

Kind Regards,

Jacque
