Thinking of having a post-wedding photo shoot?

Looking for someone to do this and wondering if anyone has done this before? It wouldn't be a "hangover party", it would be similar to a portrait shoot... just not on the wedding day but still in our outfits. In victoria somewhere.

Hi,

This is a great idea! I am a photographer who is located in Victoria.

Send me a direct message if you are interested and we can talk about details. Those post wedding shoots are very common in the USA at the moment. I think it's a great way to ensure you have the best photos because your time flexibility allows use to utilise the best natural light.

You can contact me on 0479-057-827 or send me a direct message.

Warm regards,

Esther

This is similar to a first look photo session in that it minimises time spent away from guests. In my experience, most couples prefer to be with their family and friends, especially when many have travelled great distances to be apart of the day. The beauty of a post-session is that nerves are calmer, plus you can come up with some really adventurous and crazy concepts (e.g. trash the dress) that you mightened be able to achieve on the actual wedding day.

I've had a few couples come to me post wedding for a photoshoot in their wedding attire. Some have been days or weeks after, some have even been close to twelve months later! This has been due to many varying reasons including elopment and for some- weather issues on their actual wedding day. This actually happened to me! We had torrential rain on my wedding day! So Hubby and I had a post wedding photoshoot the morning after our wedding with our bridal party in glorious sunshine and with sparkling blue skies ;-P I would assume most photographers would approach this as a portrait shoot since there wouldn't be any usual wedding requirements. Have you found someone to look after you yet?

Hello! My name is Madeleine Chiller. Can I just ask is this because you want to join your party straight away or just something you want to do?
I mean its sounds very fun!

I just wondered what you were thinking about for the shoot?

I have shot alot of 'first looks' - that is your photos of the bridal party, and all your portraits before the ceremony- meaning you can go and celebrate with your family and friends straight after the ceremony.

I have however had one couple dress up again after the wedding- it was about the week later - and the bride felt we didnt have enough time for another location on the wedding day so we decided another shoot was needed!

They added in as part of the album as if it was part of the day!

I am based in Melbourne and I would love to hear more about your plans!

Good luck with it all!

This sounds like so much fun. Great idea! I have not personally done this particular shoot however I do on location portrait photoshoots all around Victoria.

When and where are you getting married? This might be really cool to do at the beach, sort of like a "trash the dress" (not litrally haha) shoot and we can get creative together to produce something amazing for you!

If you are interested in talking about options feel free to send me an email.

I would love to join you but I am in Perth. I can imagine you will have a wonderful time doing this. Maybe have a ring around to the different photographers and maybe even look for someone who is new and looking to build their portfolio. May be a bit cheaper and you can have fun all being a bit "crazy" after you big day!

Have fun!
