I am looking for a Photographer between 1000-2000?

You've set a really sensible brief, Sam, and the good news is that 1000 to 2000 is a realistic budget for getting your fully edited high res images on a USB without paying for an album you don't want. When you talk to photographers, ask them to quote you coverage only with a digital delivery, because once you strip out the album and prints a lot of packages drop straight into your range. Be clear about how many hours of coverage you actually need too, as that is usually the single biggest thing moving the price up or down.

One thing I'd gently push you on is to look past the dollar figure and check what you're really getting for it. Ask how many images you receive, whether you get full resolution files with a print release so you can order your own prints later, and importantly who actually edits the photos. We edit every single image ourselves in-house here in South East Queensland, nothing is sent offshore or batch run through a preset and handed back, and that hands on editing is a big part of why your photos end up looking like you and your day rather than a template.

A couple of practical SEQ tips while you're planning. Our summer light is harsh and bright through the middle of the day, so if you're getting married November through to February it's worth chatting with your photographer about timing your couple portraits closer to golden hour for the nicest light. Whoever you choose, meet them or have a proper phone chat first, because you'll spend the whole day with this person and you want someone whose work you love and who you actually click with. Withing reason, buddget should not be your first consdidetion. The syle of a photographer should be what attracts you, then consider the budget. You would be surprised at how many togs will work with you on budget, if you compliment their work! Especially if you have a lovely location for your wedding. ;)
