Our answer to your Question " Does the Photographer drive themselves to the location" is Yes.

We try to arrive ahead of the Bride and Groom.

When they arrive at their location we like to be ready with our Camera and Gear so it will not take too much time up for the Couple.

Absolutely, all about Photographer's drive themselves to each venue. There may be times with a second Photographer where it's good to have them travel in the limo but generally there will always be at least one car amongst the Photographer.

For most weddings and/or photo locations they are in easy to get to areas with drivable roads. However, this is not alwyas the case and the photographer does need to know this beforehand.

If the bridal party wish to take photos in multiple locations that are a distance from each other then the photographer should either charge the couple for the extra driving or get a seat in the van with the wedding party. This saves time also if there's traffic or if someone gets lost.

Also the terrain to get to some locations needs to be clear because some of the locations l've had to drive in my mini cooper were not suitabel AT ALL and l would have liked to be informed beforehand so l could have either asked for transport or borrowed a truck to drive.

As long as the distance and locations are clear and discussed then there should be no problem.

Yes absolutely!

We have always been responsible for driving ourselves to and from all locations. This is not something I would want my couple to worry or stress about.

It also means that we can arrive at certain places ahead of the couple if need be. For example, to scope out a location and assess the lighting, or to arrive early to the ceremony to capture images of guests arriving, or early to the reception to capture the details and styling of your venue.

I have had a few couples jump in the car with us, when we have sneaked off in private to take images of just the two of them <3

Yes absolutely the photographer is in charge of getting themselves around.

There are a few occaisions were this is not possible or ideal though. If your wedding was on Rottnest Island for example, you would need to arrange for the photographers transport on the island with you or with the bridal party. If you were getting married in the middle of a busy city sometimes it makes more sense for the photographer to travel with you.

Sometimes I have even had the bridal party jump in my car instead as they wanted photos down a 4WD track.......there is usually a load of camera gear in there as well, an esky with water and food and a change of clothes though so it can be tight.

Hope that helps.

Well I do. However if it's a city wedding it can be a lot easier to avoid parking, travelling with the wedding client.

Yes, it is my responsbility to arrive well in time for your wedding and I make sure I plan ahead with parking and driving times. I aim to be on location at least 30 minutes before the ceremony, to meet the bridal party and make sure everyone is calm and start recording the events of the day. You should not need to worry about your photograper's transport in most situations - there are always exceptions - like if you are in an exotic location and transport is limited, but normally, you shouldn't need to consider my needs. I am always there to assist, and have recently given a lift to a groomsman, who had an injury that prevented him from sitting in the hired car, as mine was more comfortable for him.

Yes I always drive myself, I have had an occasion where the Limo driver just took off and left the couple to get back to the reception themselves. Luckily I was able to take them back myself.
