My experience is that most photographers are happy to offer budoir shoots. But that doesn't mean you'll get equal results with them.
Portrait photographers are commonly more experienced with the customised lighting conditions, which is something that usually goes hand in hand with budoir. If they can incorporate their skills and equipment into your wedding day (ie. not purely restricted to their artificial confines of studio lighting), then you are onto a winner.
Just ask the Photographer Im sure they will.
Not all wedding photographers offer boudoir sessions and not all boudoir photographers offer wedding photography. It is simply a matter of having a look around and seeing what is available.
We absolutley love both and are happy to offer boudoir sessions with several of our packages and as a stand along session. If you have found a photographer you like, ask them, they may do it without you even realising or may even be keen to try something new. Boudoir photography is such an awesome experience so definitely try and give it a go if you have the opportunity.

Some studios may specialize in the type of imagery that you are looking for.
I've been photographing weddings/portraits for 25 yrs. Over that time my wedding clients have become my portrait clients have become more like friends as I've watched their families grow. I've also photographed their corperate headshots and most of thier photography needs.
I guess my advice is, find someone that you really connect with then you have a photographer for LIFE!

No, it is not every photographer, and that is actually a good thing. Boudoir is its own craft. It is far more about making someone feel relaxed and quietly confident in front of the camera than it is about gear, and that comfort comes from a photographer who shoots it regularly and knows how to direct gently. So you will find some studios specialise in it, some offer it alongside weddings, and plenty do not offer it at all.
If you have already booked a wedding photographer you click with, just ask them. That connection matters more than you would think, because boudoir is intimate and you want to feel completely at ease. Some of us love it and will happily put it together for you, while others will be honest and point you to someone who lives and breathes it. Either answer is the right one for you.
A couple of practical things worth checking when you ask. First, who actually edits the images, because boudoir retouching is personal and you want it kept in trusted hands. For us everything is edited in-house, never sent offshore, which gives you real peace of mind over where those photos live. Second, ask to see a full set rather than one or two highlight shots, so you can see how they handle light, posing and skin tones across a whole session.
If you are planning it as a gift before the wedding, give yourself a little runway. Allow time for the shoot, the editing and any album or print you want ready in time, especially around the busier spring and autumn wedding seasons here in Queensland. A relaxed timeline almost always shows in the final images.
