I would always answer yes to that because it is great to see a different view of your day. Photographer will always shoot from a different angle or location and you'll get to see both of your faces or different people at the same time during your wedding.

It's always better to have one true professional with an asstant than 3x photographers that have little or no idea of what their doing.

Also, I am sure most people would rather have 500 stunning images than 3000 blury ones, under exposed, over exposed and simply not of good quality.

With weddings one should choose QUALITY over QUANTITY!

In most ways yes, it can be a lot easier, you should be supplied a little more images i feel.

Its less stress on your main photgrapher also.

But you also need to think your package may cost more becuase of this.

Ilike to think about what you want captured on your day, if its basic bridal party befores, ceremony and aftershots. ones fine if your looking at more a full day with grooms and brides and ceremony, aftershots, reception. Then two is better, if you have a tight budget but want your whole day talk to some photographers and what your after some will show you what they have done and say they can easily do it themselves. hope this helps

An experienced wedding photographer can capture your day on their own and will get all those must have images.  Have a second shooter allows for more images from a completely different point of view, plus we don't need to rush back after your location shoot as the second photographer can return early to your venue for your reception setup shots, and the groom and groomsmen don't need to get ready ridicliously early, as the sedond photographer can capture this also.
But there is a difference between a second shooter and a photographers assistant, so check to see what you are paying for.

Yes. If both photographers know each other well and therefore work well alongside each other. Having two photographers who don't know each other and are of a differerent skill level may spell disaster for some of your photos.

Usually I'll get my second shooter to capture the family's reaction during the ceremony, allowing me to give 100% of my attention to the couple. A second shooter can also capture a variety of different and unusal perspectives during your day, whilst the primary photographer will likely be making sure to capture the safe shots, before moving on to different angles etc.

Another time when a second shooter can be invaluable is before the ceremony commences. I usually hang out with the groomsmen whilst my second shooter stays with the bride, capturing those sometimes tense moments as she prepares to walk down the aisle. Meanwhile, I can capture the groom's reaction as the bride walks down the aisle as well as that moment when the bride walks towards her groom.

Having said all of that, I have photographed heaps of wedding el solo and the images I deliver to couples have always been amazing. A second shooter just adds a bit more variation and perspective. If you check out my photos, the two black and white photos of dads, one laughing and one crying, are both taken by my amazing second shooter/wife Corinne.

So in sum, no need to panic if you realise you have only hired one wedding photographer. However, two professionals who work well together are generally recommended to capture your special day in all its glory.

Absolutely, I wouldn't shoot without a second photographer with me. It allows us to truly capture so many more moments of the day. To team up and work together to capture as many images as possible.

One photographer can do the job, but a second means more angles, more positions, more moments and more images.

More is always better but an experienced photographer can capture the right moments at the right time. The advantage of having two photographers means you can cover 2 different angles of weddings and also be at 2 places at once. I'd say look at how big your wedding is and check to see if whether anything overlaps in time where you'd need 2 photographers to cover. If you're on a budget I suggest working closely with your photographer and plan out times accordingly. As a solo photographer myself I haven't found an issue with not having a 2nd on my team. I think it's a great option for weddings that are on a budget because you can get the similar coverage but cheaper.

Hi,

To answer your question I would say, it depends on factors like: the scale of your wedding, If you need the photographer to be present at the groom and bride's house on the same day, if you have a big venue for your reception and you want photos of all your guests. Basically you need to decide on the focus of your photos and practically figure out if your photographer can manage all the photos in the same time frame. Hope this answers your question :)

Yes two Photographers are definalty better than 1.

Although an experiecned photographer would be able to capture everything you needed, having the 2nd shooter there would be a great advantage in making sure that they were able to concentrate on the more candid shots of your guests.

For example, if I am concentrating on the couple and their vows, I have my 2nd concentrate on the parents, grandparents etc.  While I still look at them to see what is going on and getting what shots I can, its a great help to have the 2nd there to get those extra important emotional shots that I may not get.  Generally when the couple getting married are they start crying it means other family members and parents will start too so its a perfect time to get those shots.  Another example would be if we are doing a large group shot of you and the bridal party, I would be concentrating on the couple just married when the 2nd would concentrate more on the bridal party and what they are doing.

It depends on how you want your day to be captured. The advantage of having two photographers is that they can focus on different matters, for example, one focuses on capturing the wedding couple and one focuses on guest reactions... It also helps with the "getting ready" part when they can be at 2 locations at the same time. if you have only one photographer, he/she may need to go to locations one by one, which requires a longer service.

I highly recommend having two photographers for a large wedding (over 100 guests). If your wedding is more chill and relax, one photographer can easily capture the day.

I have done weddings by myself and with my second photographer before. It's hard to tell the differences in the ceremony and reception parts. However, I always had more photos of the couple during the portrait session as my second photographer helped me look after the wedding party.

Hope it helps.
