Where are you based and where do you photograph weddings?

I'm from Sydney. I love photographing around the beaches, southern highlands, blue mountains and hunter valley the most but can travel.

What’s your photography style?

Candid and guiding, central to the moment.

What’s your personal style?

My product is the wedding photography but how I deliver the service is everything to me. Being courteous and humble, while respectful to the needs of my couple and their guests, is of the upmost important to me. The photographer is there all day for everything and I pride myself on being calm, pleasant and conversational to all.

Do you charge for travel?

If your wedding or photoshoot is within 50km of sydney cbd then there's no charge. If outside this radius there's a $50 fee up to 120km.

We were lucky to have Dane as our wedding photographer in November 2023 and we are SO happy we chose him. He organised an engagement shoot with us prior to the wedding so we could get to know him, he got to know us and get us more comfortable in front of the camera which is a great idea. Dane did an amazing job at our wedding, he captured so many amazing photos which we are obsessed with. He teamed up with Jeff who did the videography and we could not be happier with the video. We wanted our photos to look natural and capture the fun and love of the day and he really delivered. We cannot express how grateful we are to Dane for stepping in at the last minute to save our wedding day. After experiencing issues with our original photographer, we were in a panic, but Dane came through like an absolute hero. My husband and I are really reserved and quite shy people but we were really impressed with how Dane and his team made us feel really relaxed and involved in choosing the shots we wanted on our wedding day. Dane was so easy to work with and was lovely! We had a small, low-key wedding and didn’t want a whole day package. Other suppliers were totally inflexible and wouldn’t negotiate their packages, but Dane was so flexible and happy to work with what we wanted at a very reasonable price. He was also just really nice and genuine and made us feel comfortable even though we don’t like being the centre of attention! And amazingly he had all the photos ready for us in just 1 week! Great photos and a great experience with Dane. Thank you very much for capturing our special day and our vibe as a couple!

What does having a watermark and copyright on photos mean for my wedding photos?

Hi there a photographer is an expensive part of our wedding day, and I have heard of some horror stories of couples having watermarks on their photos and having to pay extra to use their photos so after the day (i.e. to print and put on the wall or share to personal socials? Is that normal or expected i am a bit scared of all photographers and the legal stuff! Thanks Bree

Hi Bree, good question. Mostly all photographers will have a standard contract which states the usage and rights of both the couple and photographer of the photos after the wedding. Some photographers are stricter than others and will negotiate the usage.

Generally speaking, honest photographers will let you do anything you want with the images such as share and print, but they won't let you sell them for profit as they feel they're entitled to some of the revenue associated with the sale. It basically comes down to copyright of the images, most photographers will try to retain copyright so they can advertise their business and submit the photos in competitions, again for advertisement.
