Not only can you but you most certainly should! If it's not already available online, ask for their demo videos, live videos, audio tracks, images, etc. Whatever will help you get a better idea of who they are as performers and what you should expect when you book.

Hi,

YES! 100%! Any decent DJ’s should have a SoundCloud or MixCloud. And bands should provide demo recordings.

I’m a DJ/musician and have a SoundCloud and although it isn’t “wedding music style” it shows certain techniques that can be implemented at weddings. I have some reservations about recording live wedding sets as people can download them and play them illegally (which has happened to me previously!)

My advice - see them play live FIRST.

Goodluck,

You certainly can. That is why this website is so great, most music suppliers such as myself have provided videos on our storefront for your consideration.

Please go to my storefront, click on the videos tab and watch my stirring version of 'Flower of Scotland' for an example.

Definitely, if they don't have a demo or a good one, how do you know how they'll be for your special day?

Absolutley.

Different Dj's mix differently so its within your interest to preview what type of entertainment you are booking before paying a deposit, Any profesional Dj will have a Soundcloud or Mix cloud account that they can link you to to preview their work.

this is something that we would be happy to provide any future clients.

You sure can.  Bands/musicians more regularly do.  As a DJ, I often invite people to see me perform at a local venue or just meet in person to help with the decision making.

Absolutely and I wouldn't recommend booking any band or DJ without hearing a 'live' sample or seeing them in action first!

Any reputable band or DJ should be able to provide 'live' music samples before you book them. Many bands and DJ services provide professionally mastered video/audio recordings of their services on their websites and on YouTube, which may look and sound great but not honestly reflect their true sound or performance style. Ultimately, you are always best to see a band or DJ live in action first but this is unfortunately often not possible due to location of the gig, date clashes or the band or DJ being too heavily booked with weddings and private functions to put on a showcase at the time of your enquiry.

Understanding this, INKASOUNDS only ever posts live video/audio footage of their performances. We know that we only have one shot to get every one of your special songs right on the night, and so we never master our videos or audio clips like so many other bands and DJs do. We always want to sound just as good or better live than on a recording. And last but not least, we want to give all of our couples across Victoria and Australia a chance to get to know us before their big day, via the hundred+ video clips of us available on our INKASOUNDS YouTube channel. Please check us out!

Wishing you all the best with your wedding planning

Kind Regards INKASOUNDS

Absolutely, yes. Any professional band will have a video of themselves too.  We certainly do!
