Guests should really let you know straight away whether they can attend or not, but sometimes they forget and you need to follow up.

There are two things that affect your RSVP date:

  1. When your venue needs the final numbers by.
  2. When your wedding stationer needs the final numbers by (for menus, place cards, seating chart etc).

Make your RSVP date 1-2 weeks ahead of these deadlines to give you time to follow up and provide it to your stationer & venue.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can help with :)

Cheers,

It is always a good idea to make the RSVP date at least 2 weeks before your wedding date. If by then, you are still waiting on replies, you can start by following up with a phone call. Say you were wondering if they received the invitation, because you don't want them to miss out on the big day and you need to get those numbers to your caterers, etc. The last thing you want is a guest showing up on the day, that was unaccounted for! I hope this helps! God luck with all the arrangements!

Hi!!

It is etiquette for invited guests to listen and respond by the RSVP deadline. We know everyone leads busy lives so guests may innocently forget that they haven’t sent the RSVP back. We always recommend putting an RSVP date with a week or two leeway, leaving you time to follow up on the guests you are still awaiting reponses from, which hopefully is only a handful.
