<p>If you want your invitations to be traditional and formal, then full names are used.</p>
<p>If your wedding is more casual, laid back and modern, then first names only are fine. </p>

<p>I suppose it depends on how many older people are being invited. They appreciate full names being shown on the invitation & the surnames represent the two families coming together.</p>

<p>That being said, it's your wedding! So do what feels right to you. There are no modern rules about this. It's a personal preference only.</p>

<p>I'd say this comes down to personal preference in relation to how formal you want to be or the actual design of the invitation itself.</p>

<p>I will say the majority I do are just the first names. </p>
