How does a dress fitting work? What do I need to do?

Initially, you would need to book an appointment. On the day of the appointment, you don't need to bring anything, however a nude coloured or strapless bra and a pair of your favourite heels can help, but are not essential.

Myself and one of our talented designers will chat with you to see what sort of gown you are after. There are many gowns available to try on if you would like to, and then you will be measured.

The second appointment will have you try on your toile to make sure that the garment fits you perfectly. Once you have found the accessories you will be wearing with your dress, bring them along. From then on, the garment will move further to completion during the the following appointments, until your pick up date!

After a Free consult to discuss the Gown, Fabrics, colour, the measurements are then taken, from there a toile is made up(Calico or Cotton fabric) and the first fitting is arranged where the client comes in to try on the Calico and any alteratioms are done. Then the real gown is cut and sewn together ready for the first Free gown fitting,  when the client is happy with the look, feel and fit of the gown it is then finished and ready for a pre-final trial. The next  appointment will be the Final dress where the client can take the dress home. 

 If the case is that the client is wanting to lose weight another pre-fitting is arranged after the client is happy with her weight. If oyu have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you and have a wonderful day. :)

At Wedding Promises we book your fitting approx 6 to 8 weeks before your wedding day. At your first fitting we ask that you bring your shoes and undergarments that you will be wearing on your wedding day. Usually next fitting will be final but if you are on a diet and dropping in size we work with you till a week before the wedding to make sure it is fitting perfect on your day. The first thing we do is have a meeting to discuss the dress that you want. If we go ahead, I make you toile (calico version to get the perfect fit), from there we choose the fabric and proceed. The process usually takes 4-5 fittings.
