How long does it take to style a wedding with table decorations?

I'm thinking of hiring table decorations/styling items and doing the table setting myself on the morning of the wedding - how would the timing of this work? We are having 100 guests on round tables. Thank you!

Hi there, I would say 2 hours  for table decor, place settings (including cutlery, glasses, napkins & glasses), name tags, gifts etc

Hi there :)

The timing will vary depending on how detailed your tablesettings are. For example; table runners, candles, vases/floral centrepieces (premade), plates, napkins, cutlery and glassware. Then menus and the guests name cards placed out according to floorplan which can be the most time consuming thing. Allow 2-3 hours for this and be sure you have your name cards sorted the night before so your not doing this morning of. Also napkins pre-ironed or knotted will also be a time saver morning of. Hello,

Its a bit hard to answer this question without knowing what you are Styling, the Venue, and your delivery, handling and bump in Logistics (how far is your vehicle from the venue door? What are you moving boxes on and how many can you move in one go? Does the venue have access restrictions? What is your packaging like in terms of accessibility and space saving. What level of perfection do you require? etc).
You will also be significantly slower than a well oiled team with excellent packing and logistics systems.

Are you talking just centerpeices? And how extensive are they? Whats your linen needs?  And you also talking place settings? What type of place setting, eg informal, buffet, formal, silver service etc? Is there additional room Styling you will be undertaking?

For our events I generally allow 4 hours for centerpeices plus simple Styling. This includes delivery unload and bump in to a easy access venue with no access restrictions.

My advice to my couples is your Wedding Day is a really special day. You and your loved ones will be wanting to get hair, nails, relaxation make up and dress done. You will be wanting photos with your besties, champers to relax and really pampering yourself not stressing over boxes and table settings.


Most everyone can afford someone to set up decor for them and its worth the extra work and savings needed to really enjoy your morning and your Day with your besties.

While people are ok to help they would really prefer to be hanging out with a relaxed you, having fun and enjoying your most special day. Thats all recorded by a quality photographer that you can all oooh and ahhh over in the future.

I would anticpate giving yourself 2 hours minimum for styling the tables. 

Ask if any of your family can assist.

Prepare the table decorations in groups a few nights before so you have everything ready to go.

Hi

This would depend on the centerpiece & how much you can do in advance. EG a floral arrangement can take up to an hour, however if you do most of the arrangement the day before you can cut this down to 10 minutes. Have all your glassware polished, remove any packaging on candles etc. the day prior, if you can pack each table into a container that seals so you can take in a couple of containers together, less trips back to the car- all saves time when you are on a time limit for installing.

Hi There,

Depending what you putting on the tables and what stying you are doing ,I would allow yourself 1 to 2 hours

Make sure you have ready in a box for each table, so when are set up you can put it straight on each table.

The key is to be organised before hand .
