Of coure it is possible, as catering is expensive.
You could try an afternoon tea, barbeque or fish and chips and ice cream as less expensive options.
Hello
Of course you can do your own catering but usually a brides focus will be on many other things and you will also want to enjoy your day, friends and family not worring about serving food
If you are doing it for budget reasons then an option is to recruit your closest friends to help out with entrees and desserts for example on buffet tables for guests to help themseles (keeping it simple) then get a caterer to provide the main course. We offer a paella cooked at your venue which is substantial, delicious, filling and entertaining, depending on numbers it can be very competitive
Kind regards
Louise

You need to ask "why" you are thinking of DIY-ing your catering.
Is it budgetary? Do you think that caterers charge too much for their food and services?
Is it because you want your wedding to be really relaxed, like a backyard bbq or a picnic?
What you are paying for in getting a caterer to look after your event, is their expertise. We understand how weddings run. We anticipate any issues and find solutions for them on your behalf, so you don't have to. We prepare all the food, present it, serve your guests, clean up and generally ensure that you, your family and guests are taken care of so you can all enjoy this special day.
If you DIY it, who will get everything set-up for you? Drinks chilled. Glassware out. Tables set. Food prepared.
Who will greet your guests on arrival; arrange a drink for them and give them any assistance they may require?
Who will guide them to the bathrooms, where to put gifts, where to hang their coat?
Who will look after your guests whilst you're away having photos with your family so you can return to happy guests? (and a waiting glass of champagne or other drink?)
Who will ensure everything is ready for your speeches and the cake cutting, and keeping your day running on-time?
It's these small touches that ensure your wedding day runs smoothly and that's what caterers do! It is an emotional day, especially for the couples and their family, and we are here to make it as stress-free as possible.
Caterers will also ensure that there is enough food, that it is suitable for consumption and a good selection to satisfy your guests. You don't want guests getting sick from the food served!
If you have guests with dietary requirements, we will find them and ensure they are taken care and fed items suitable for their dietary restrictions.
We will guide you through the process of choosing what will be best for your day and ensure that it is all taken care of for you.
Good luck!

Hello :) I suppose that if you had a wedding venue that allowed outside catering, some wouldn't stop you from doing it but here is some advice for us. While DIY projects are becoming more popular with weddings, this is best kept to unique handmade favours and decor touches rather than catering. While i understand the idea of cutting costs, people come (sometimes) a long way and sometimes take time off work to attend your special day, so a proper meal is the perfect trade-off ;)
Furthermore, If you are not a professional caterer, you don't know proper safety protocols and people could get sick. Weddings are also stressful to plan and (trust me) you don't want tyhe extra stress of spending days either cooking or co-ordinating the whole process and neither do your family.
Maybe you are considering self-catering because you are having a small wedding or you are trying to move around your budget to allow other things in to it, but if you have ever hosted a dinner party or a chrtistmas dinner, remember how much work goes in to it, not to mention the stress it will put people under because this isnt just any meal. It is your wedding dinner.
Consider a simple menu, shop around and ask for custom packing to suit your budget. Lay it out.. Say, "i have this many people, at this location, my dream menu is this and here is my budget. What can you do"

Why on Earth would you diy catering?
On your special day, neither you or your family or friends need to find themselves in a kitchen trying to prepare a meal for possibly a substantial amount of guests, nor would they like to serve and clean up later.
Furthermore, with a professional caterer understanding food volumes, preparation times and other important subtleties, why risk your once in a life-time day by hoping to get it right yourself?
Next we'll be diy hospital, diy car mechanic - we're all professional in our own rights.
Let's elevate our economy and employ professionals to do profesisional work. DIY's are a blight on small business.

Yes certainly possible, but the very reason you would contract a caterer is to avoid all the pitfalls in doing it yourself!
It can be a daunting task!
