Candy buffets are popular but more popular with younger guests and obviously kids!

Candy buffets are better served at the same time with a dessert cake or dessert buffet

Candy Buffet are always popular with old and young. It is always enjoyed.

It probably would be a sweet overload, but if you make it available to everyone at the start of your reception, during canape's (Finger Food service) 

you could spread the sweet treats.   Some people like eating sweets to give themselves energy as Weddings can spread over 6-8 hours.

In my experience candy buffet is mainly for visual appeal. Super cool looking even if most of it may go uneaten, I like the idea of a wedding being a day of excess :) :)
