Getting married? Our immaculately restored 1969 Citroen H van ‘Bernie’ would love to be invited, and bring his classic French charm to share with all your guests!
The Big Shot team can offer a complete Bar and Café service for your special day, including bartenders, baristas, personalised drinks menu, glassware, lawn games, furniture, and of course, our charismatic van, Bernie.
We operate as a BYO bar service, so all we ask is that you purchase and provide the alcohol to us on location, and we'll take care of everything else. Our team of hand picked, experienced staff will bring the party to you and your guests, serving up all of your favourite drinks and mixing up any cocktails of your choice.
When it comes to weddings, we understand there’s no ‘one size fits all’, so we’re always happy to work with you to customise the type and level of service for your wedding day depending on your needs. If you're just after a short coffee service following the wedding ceremony, we can do that too!

We decided then to regain control of our lives; to maintain a healthy work/life balance, to really enjoy our jobs, to be engaged socially, and to make a positive, measurable impact on the environment and on others. We have designed Bernie to be flexible enough to operate as a Private Bar. We've always loved the idea of one day owning a bar, and saw no reason why we couldn't combine both of these passions into one business! Good Coffees, Good Cocktails, Good Times!

Bernie has been kitted out less like a typical coffee van, and more like a Melbourne café on wheels. Our café hire packages are a great option if you're looking for a quick coffee service straight after your ceremony, to keep you and your guests well caffienated into the night!
When booking Bernie for a wedding, our base bar package includes: 3 hours service time for up to 100 guests, 2 x RSA qualified bartenders, our beautiful Citroen van Bernie, glassware, liquor licence application (if applicable), personalised drinks menu, generator hire, ice for service, bar equipment and setup and packdown time. There are a number of optional extras that can be added to this, such as: additional service time, cocktails, coffees and additional staff.

All of our events operate on a BYO basis (except for cocktails).
We ask that all alcohol for the event is provided by the event organiser, venue, catering company, third party organiser or by the client. We also ask that beers, ciders, white wines and sparkling is stored in a cool room/fridges to ensure they are cold and ready for service when we arrive.
If cocktail service is requested for your booking, we will purchase and bring all of the spirits, liqueurs, mixers, garnishes, syrups, glassware and other ingredients required for your cocktail selections. These costs will be included within our cocktail package, and will depend on the types of cocktails and quantity required.
Bernie is a big boy, measuring 5m long x 2m wide x 2.2m high.
We need a minimum clear space of 7m length x 5.5m wide x 2.5m height to set up/operate within. This allows for sufficient space for all of our doors/hatches to open, additional supply space on the right side of van, and enough circulation space for guests to congregate around the left side of the van where the service hatch opens from.
We’re based in Brunswick East in Victoria, and are more than happy to travel out to the country. That’s why we put our business on wheels after all! For bookings, our standard package includes up to an hour of travel time from Melbourne CBD. Any additional travel time over that hour will be charged per hour, or part there of - at $160 per hour

We’ll then discuss your event in more detail so that we can firm up an accurate quote for you. To confirm a date and lock in that booking, we require a 50% deposit of the quoted amount. The remaining 50% of the quote is to be paid a minimum of 7 days prior to the event.
