I didn't want a wedding cake, so I didn't get one. But now my sister wants to bake one.

Give me reasons to convince her that is so unnecessary and a bad idea? I'd prefer no cake than one a non-pro has made :/ I feel like I should just have a baker make one, even if I don't need it and tell her to back off, but she won't listen.

Reception venues do not accept food from outside sources if they are from unregistered/uninsured kitchens. They actually make you sign a release when delivering. I think if she knows this, she may decide it is a bad idea.

Hi

Maybe let her know you weren't wanting a cake for your wedding even though you appreciate the suggestion. Maybe give her another job or task to help for your day.

Good Luck

Mmm tough one !!

Possibly tell a little white lie and say that your reception venue will only accept cakes that have been supplied by a registered cake supplier ( in fear of food poisoning etc ?)

All the best :)

Hello!

It must be tricky, But we think if you approach it with honesty and appreciation for her offer and gently explain youd love a cake that looks professional she will understand! maybe challenge her to create a professional looking buttercream cake!

Good luck!
