Hi, I have two questions in one. First of all, when cutting the cake, are we supposed to cut the top tier or the bottom tier? Secondly, which leg should the garter go on?

when I deliver cakes I give cutting instructions which tell you how many portions you get and I use the same instructions myself to determine the size of cake needed as it can vary from dessert to finger size But as a guide 2.5 cm square x 8cm + deep for finger size , 5cm x2.5cm x 8cm + deep
At consultations I discuss the size and often demonstrate the size and often offer samples when asked...

Generally the bottom cake is cut by the Bride and Groom for photographs,and the cake is usually cut up at the venue and served to your guests, I always make sure that if you intend to keep the top for later, make sure you tall the Catering Manager.....also if you wish to keep toppers as often these get disgarded
