When you find the right one, it doesn't matter how early you book them.....you'll secure the one you want! Most will ask for a deposit to secure your date and paperwork for the legalities can be filled out up to 18 months prior to the ceremony, so as soon as you know what your date is, you can start the search for the perfect person to create your celebration with you ??

I advise couples to book their Venue, then their Celebrant.
I will take bookings up to 24 months in advance.
Anywhere from 18 months to 1 month out you need to do your Notice of Intended Marriage - CANNOT be earlier than 18 months nor LATER than 1 month prior to your ceremony. Earlier is better, as payment of Deposit is taken at 18 months.
Dear Bride and Groom, you should book your celebrant as soon as you can. She is responsible for the tone and success of your ceremony.
All of the good celebrants will be booked in advance so get in as soon as you can.

Congratulations on your engagement!
Only your celebrant makes it legal, so you need to book as soon as possible. Choose your date and venue then get in touch with your Celebrant to lock it in, as dates fill very quickly. You can then meet up and complete legal paperwork and discuss ceremony services after that. It's also important to book a photographer and other key suppliers - get in early. How organised a person are you..this will determine how much time you need to get everything done. If you have a year, that's about average. You can always use more time, but you can do it in less if that's all the time you have.

Many couples book months , even a year, before their special day in order to secure the venue and the celebrant.
If securing a specific venue is not a priority and the Notice of Intended Marriage has been received by the celebrant at least a calendar month before, then the wedding can be done quickly. I have had couples who I have joined in marriage at home, at a restaurant or in a garden and they didn't have to wait for months to tie the knot.
Thanks for reaching out. I suggest you start looking for a Celebrant as soon as you have locked in your Wedding Date. This might also depend on if you have chosen your Venue or where you intend to have your ceremony. Personally, I like to meet or have a lengthy chat to my couples, to make sure they feel 'safe and comfortable ' with me to deliver a ceremony, with all the boxes ticked.
Your wedding day will need to be anytime after one month when your "Notice of Intention to Marry " has been signed.
Try not to get too 'bogged down' with choosing your celebrant. All celebrants are Legally obliged to follow the guidelines put down by th Attorney Generals Department. Most celebrants are caring, people with your best interests at heart.
On saying that, it is your day and yours alone, make sure that he or she asks what YOU want for your Marriage Ceremony.
Best of Luck and happy days to you......... Jan
As soon as you meet the right one for you! There is a legal requirement to lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) with your celebrant no later than ONE MONTH prior to your wedding date, so that is your absolute cut-off point.
But remember that it is the "people" aspect of your day that you will need to feel comfortable with and have some sort of rapport. So it's important to meet with your celebrant before booking and see if you "click".
Also, keep in mind that celebrants (just like photographers, videographers, and DJ's) can only be in one place at a time. So if you get your heart set on one, but they are already booked, there's not much they can do about it. So if you find the celebrant you feel is right for you, don't wait. Book them now and then relax, knowing they will take care of you and all the legal stuff to make sure you actually end up married! After all, that's what it's all about, isn't it? Happy wedding planning!
The majority of Celebrant offer a free, no-obligation consultation where you can meet the Celebrant and decide if he/she is the right fit for you. If you would like to get to know your Celebrant and ensure they are available for your big day then it is very important to contact and meet as soon as you have confirmed your date. Celebrants play a key role in your special day so its very important to book as early as you can. Happy planning!
Hi & Congratulations, A Celebrant is a very important part of your wedding day, they can set the tone for your whole day. It's not just about what we do on the day, but also what we do on the lead up to your day. The getting to know you and the preparation for your day. To make your day easy & relaxed, you will want someone you are very comfortable with. Allow yourself plenty of time to meet with a celebrant or two, before making the decision. Ideally this should be at the top of your wedding to do list, one of the first vendors to be booked, weather you are getting married in a couple of months time in a back yard or a couple of years in a large venue. Happy Wedding Planning!!
