If you go to the Attorney General's Department, there is a list of Religious Celebrants.
Civil Celebrants can only do Civil ceremonies, not Religious ones.

Hey there Madeline, Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
I'm a Catholic Celebrant on the Gold Coast that would love to help you to include religious content to your wedding. All my ceremonies are inspired by my couples' wishes so to include a reading, hymn or other religious event, would not be a problem for me at all.
It's your day, your way!!
Let me know what you are thinking of and let see what we can achieve together. Hope to hear from you soon xx
Hello, Madeline, There are 2 types of Registered Celebrants, then there are priests and ministers of Various Religions.
Type 1 - Registered Marriage Celebrant, that does civil ceremonies only.
Type 2 - Religious Celebrant, that will include religion into the civil ceremony. The certificate of Marriage will not be from a particular religion.
Priests & Ministers- Some Priests & Ministers will conduct a religious ceremony outside the church, you would need to contact then directly. Marriage Certifciate/registration will be from that particular religion.
If you want to be registered within a Catholic marriage you would need to search for a Catholic Priest, then ask the questions.
Or maybe google search for a Religious Celebrant SE Qld / Gold Coast. Or the Attorney Generals Dept. website lists Religious Celebrants.
Any Celebrant can include prayers, phalms etc. of your choice, that could be read by another family member.
I am a Registered Marriage Celebrant that does Civil ceremonies only. I wish you success in your search for a Celebrant that is just right for you.
Sincerely, Deb

Hi,
Have a look on the website from the attorney generals dept. The list religious celebrants. Ag.gov.au, civil celebrants can't be involved in a religious ceremony.

I am a civil celebrant and being Catholic myself incorporate prayers and bible readings into 'catholic' ceremonies that i perform.
I think most civil celebrants would be the same.
