My Prices stay the same.

I base my prices on the amount of work I do to prepare your Wedding, not on the days of the week or whether it's a holiday.

We all are business owners, so this will vary greatly, just as our prices do.

I'd love to celebrate a New Years Eve Wedding

Yes, of course, most professionals do, however, the extra fee might not be significant.

Wouldn't you expect to be paid more if you worked on NYE, NYD, Christmas Day, Easter Sunday etc?

Like all business owners, a Celebrant must take into consideration their own personal costs which might be financial or social (family) and so it is only fair that they are compensated.

Having said that, if the Ceremony is before 3pm on NYE, a surcharge might not apply, but is likely to apply if closer to midnight.

Hi Bride to be.

Some celebrants charge extra fees for high peak season, public holidays or special dates such as NYE. I do not charge extra fees for special dates. If you have a celebrant in mind inqurie first if they do charge extra for NYE weddings. Hope this helps. And have a happy NYE wedding. xx

Australian marriage celebrants are a deregulated industry so how much they charge is a very personal question for each one. Being self-employed as well, most celebrants aren't too stressed by public holidays or special dates, however, NYE is one of those dates where you're probably planning on being social. So they might charge a little more, or at worst, don't expect a discount.

I think you will find that some celebrants would and some wouldn't.  I actually did one on New Year's Eve last year and didn't charge extra but you will probably find varying opinions on this.

Perhaps, some Celebrants do, but I am not one of them. If I would rather not work NYE I won't take the job!

Personally as a Marriage Celebrant I don't charge extra for these dates. It just depends on availability.

Depends  on the celebrant.  I wouldn't charge extra.

It will be up to each celebrant service whether or not they increase for certain days and public holidays e.g. Melbourne Cup day or New Years eve. We don't charge a surcharge at A Melbourre Celebrant as we don't like hidden costs that can cause confusion.
