We love the look of some of the older cathedrals, but neither of us is religious. Would we be permitted to marry there?

Is it possible to have a wedding without signing anything legally and then go to the registry with witnesses a few months later to sign the marriage documents? My fiance is in a visa process and has been advised not to change his marriage status until he receives his permanent residency. However, we want to have our wedding with family and friends before we move away later this year and can't guarantee he'll receive the residency in time.

Hello. I was wondering what happens if our celebrant is sick or something happens and they can't come to our wedding on the day? Do they usually have a backup celebrant in mind for this sort of thing? And how does it work with the legal side, would our marriage still be legal if another celebrant performed the ceremony? Hi Team, I am a temporary resident in Melbourne and my fiance is planning to travel her for the wedding from overseas with a tourist visa for the wedding. Can she send me a scaned notarized signed copy of intent of marriage over email and I print it out for submission to celebrant ? or should she send me a hard copy sent over post the document over to me?.

Hi everyone! My fiance and I are French from birth but are now both recently Australian citizens. In countries like France or the UK you can have up to 6 witnesses (aged over 18 years old obviously) to be witnesses at your wedding. We were wondering if 2 is the max here in Western Australia or if it is the minimum number. If 2 is the minimum for the number of witnesses what would be the maximum number?
