Hi, I'm Mandi and I enjoy nothing more than creating a beautiful, unique ceremony for you and your partner. My vibe is warm, fun and professional. I have been working in the Event space for 20 years, but have definitely found my calling as a Celebrant. I love animals, have a passion for travel and adventure and really enjoy going for a dip in the ocean and walking our 3 dogs at the beach.

My friend got married recently but she felt like she was pressured by the groom's family as everything happened in just a day. The celebrant filled the NOIM form, did the vows and gave the couple a marriage certificate, all on the same day. Is it even legal? Don't you need atleast a month gap between the NOIM lodgement and wedding day? Marriage has not been registered yet so she wants to cancel her wedding. Is there any way?

Married By Mandi
The NOIM needs to be signed by at least one of the parties one month prior to the ceremony. The other party may sign on the day, however the Celebrant must satisfy certain citeria in this instance. The Celebrant needs to have a conversation with the party who is signing on the day, prior to make sure that they are fully compliant and not being coerced into the marriage. If the NOIM was filled out on the day and presented to both parties for signing, this is illegal. I would definitely suggest that the bride contacts Births, Deaths and Marriages and lodges a complaint, this all sounds very dodgy.
