When we have the rehearsal, the day before your wedding ceremony, we will practice saying all the vows etc, that you will need to be saying on the day.
Also, can I suggest that you read your personal vows out loud, in front of a mirror so that you have heard yourself saying them out loud.

When you are talking about your wedding, you need to be up-front from the "get-go", telling everyone what IS happening. You can tell your Dad what you ARE doing, rather than what you aren't doing. Mention what you will be doing eg "I am going to walk into the ceremony on my own, until I reach half way, and then John will come and meet me and we will walk in, together."
You need to ask the celebrant whether they will let you write your own vows...OR whether you HAVE to write your own vows.
You need to ask the celebrant how they will make your ceremony reflect you and your partner.
You could also ask the celebrant how they feel about the theme you may have chosen for your wedding eg...if you are having a "StarWars" themed wedding or perhaps if you are having a wedding on a boat etc
An Authorisesd Marriage Celebrant can conduct anyone's wedding, so long as all the legal requirements are met...NOIM needs to be completed no less than 1 month before the ceremony date and no more than 18 months before the ceremony date. The couple need to be over 18 years of age and all identification documentation needs to be sited at the completion of the NOIM.
It is totally OK to ask a celebrant to wear a costume at your wedding. However, may I suggest that this information be conveyed at the outset of the booking arrangements, because not all celebrants will feel happy wearing certain items of clothing. I tell all my clients that I will not conduct a wedding in the nude!!!! If it is vital for the celebrant to be in a certain type of costume, it would probably be preferable for the couple to give advice as to where that costume could be procured.
