April 2019

Kim was absolutely lovely and made us feel at ease during our wedding ceremony. Kim was always responsive to our emails and our ceremony was personalised to us which was lovely. She made it easy for us to our vows by following along with her and she had my husband read from her script as he is half deaf and couldn't hear her clearly and I could tell that made him feel at ease. She was professional, kind and caring. Thank you for being a part of our special day!

Kim was thoughtful, engaging and always ready to answer any questions and provide advice on our ceremony. As a same sex couple, we needed a celebrant who was as excited about our wedding as we were - and Kim was just that! I would definitely recommend Kim for all couples.

Thanks Lucy. It was a beautiful wedding ceremony and I was proud to marry such a lovely couple.

November 2017

My husband and I were married at the Novotel Northbeach, Wollongong on Saturday 23 September, 2017. The celebrant we chose was Kim O’Sullivan. I have known Kim for some time, and decided to have her officiate. Kim did a fantastic job – not only did she get all of the paperwork and official business under control quite early before the big day, she was very approachable and helpful right up to and during the event. Kim asked what colours/theme the wedding was to be and tried to co-ordinate her outfit to blend into the wedding, and she looked lovely in an emerald green satin short 60’s style dress which complimented the wedding party perfectly with the shell pink and spring time florals of the bridesmaids. Our wedding ceremony took place outside on a terrace, with the beach and Norfolk Island Pines as the backdrop. Kim was equipped with her portable PA system, which really did help with the sound. Kim is a very capable public speaker, and did a wonderful job for us. She was patient and caring during the ceremony, and prompted us if we muddled things during our vows. After the wedding Kim provided us with a stylish folder containing a print out of the entire ceremony and the marriage certificate. I am so glad we chose Kim as our wedding celebrant. She is very good at what she does and was a pleasure to deal with.

March 2025

Kim is a very professional celebrant and I found it so easy talking to her and asking her all about the ceremony process. She was so lovely and detail oriented from the get go. The ceremony she officiated was very lovely and everyone from my family was really impressed and happy with it. We wanted to keep it simple and she accomodated it perfectly. Thank you for everything.

How common are rehearsals now? ANd rehearsal dinners?

Kim O'Sullivan Celebrant

Ceremony rehearsals are not necessary. My script that I email couples explains the procedure simply. I talk to couples about the procedure as well. Every wedding that I have done has gone extremely well without a rehearsal.

Rehearsal dinners are done by certain venues. The couples choose the menu in advance and then go to the venue and have the dinner.

Can we involve our child in the vows/ceremony?

Kim O'Sullivan Celebrant

Of course the children can be included in the ceremony. They can be included in the personal vows section, not the legal vows where they may share their heartfelt words.

  1. There are many other ways to involve the children including doing a reading or a poem, carrying the rings, scattering flower petals, being part of a unity candle ceremony. The can be given a present after the ring ceremony and the list goes on. There are only three legal sections to a ceremony- the monitum, legal vows and the signing and witnessing of the marriage certificates which involve the celebrant, the couple and two witnesses over 18 years old ( for the signing and witnessing of the marriage documents).

Do I have to be officially divorced to get remarried?

Kim O'Sullivan Celebrant

Yes you do. The celebrant needs to see the divorce papers and add information to the Notice if Intended Marriage.
