Hi, I’m Brad, a Commonwealth-registered Civil Marriage Celebrant located in Sylvania, south of Sydney.

Like most celebrants, I’m passionate about what I do and want you to have the best ceremony possible.

Each ceremony is tailor-made to suit you and can include as little or as much as you would like. Everyone's story is different and I enjoy meeting couples and telling their stories.

How can I encourage my partner to write their vows?

I've written mine and I'm still waiting to find out about theirs- is there anything I can do without nagging? The wedding is only two weeks away

I'm sure your partner will come through with beautiful vows.

However - to ensure he is on track, have a discreet chat to your celebrant and ask him/her to check in with your partner as to how his vows are coming along and if he needs some ideas/help. This will give your celebrant the cue to either jump in and help or conversely, assure you that all is ok.

I'm sure your celebrant will be only to glad to help.

Do celebrants usually recommend pre-marriage counselling or courses?

Short answer - Yes.

A marriage celeberant must provide information regarding relationshp education services. This is to give you the best start to married life and to ensure that you understand the importance of the marriage and what you are about to undertake.

However this does not imply the celebrant is judging your relationship in any way as it is a requirement of the Marriage Celebrant - Code of Practice.
