Hi there, I couldn't agree with you more! But as your partner has a big family it might be a bit harder for him to see that.
Maybe if you could agree to cut down the guess list to have a equal balance of both sides that would reduce the expense of the wedding.
Try to talk about what you could do with the money that is used for the wedding ie. deposit for home, new care etc
The true meaning of the wedding is to join your love for each other intimately and have a equal partnership so what better way than to sit down and work this out together to come to a suitable solution for both parties.
