FAQ

This depends on what you want.  Even the cheapest type of Wedding, a Registry Style ceremony, has some cost options.  The only way that I can give you a realistic quote is for you to contact me and tell me what you want, with the services and options that I offer.

Yes, this is mainly the type of ceremony that I prepare.  Whether is a Traditional Wedding, a Child Naming or other ceremony, I love making every ceremony exactly what you want it to be!

We have our first meeting at my house in Traralgon and it takes around 2 hours.  Not only does this time together, plus the information that I get from you at the meeting give me a very good idea of what you want, but I have spent some considerable time creating a 'Getting to know you' document, that I give each of you to complete independently after you leave, then return it to me ASAP after the meeting and before I commence creating your bespoke ceremony.

Next, I email you both drafts of the ceremony at strategic stages, during the preparation of the Wedding Script where I get feedback and if required, futher information from you.  I send these drafts in MS Word format, so with some boundaries, I allow you some direct editing onto the draft to send back to me, that I can transfer to the Master document.

Finally, I have you approve the final draft of the ceremony script.  This means, not only do you know what is in the document, but you have approved it as what you want delivered as your ceremony.

That's easy.  In our Service Agreement (our contract), I have written into it that I will only take instruction from the bride and groom, not anyone else, including parents.  It is your day, not theirs, so any input from them must come through you to me, not directly to me from them.  Should they come directly to me, they will be referred to you by me anyway!

May 2023

I couldn't sing Graham's praises enough. He guided us through every step of the process and created a truly personalised event. You could sense his passion and care in every detail and he provided a lot of insight into how things could be best run based on his expertise. Our wedding would not have been the same without his guidance.

Thank you Tara for your kind words and review. Preparing and delivering your ceremony for Cam and yourself was truly a lot of fun for me. I hope that you both enjoyed your day as much as I did, because it means that you both had a wonderful day.

We highly recommend Graham as a celebrant, we received so many compliments on how smooth, funny, romantic and gorgeous our ceremony was. He gave us exactly what we wanted, as two anxious people he made us so comfortable and delivered the most elegant, light hearted yet funny and relaxed ceremony. He takes care of everything from the moment we had the initial meeting until the big day, he made everything run just so smoothly. We couldn’t Thankyou more Graham, we will forever be grateful to you.

What does a Celebrant do with NOIM form before/until the wedding?

GEM Professional Celebrancy

Before the ceremony: I have a seperate document wallet for each of my couples. Once the NOIM is created by me on the Births, Deaths and Marriages website in your presence, then printed and signed by the couple and myself, aka "received" by me, I place it into the document wallet created for that couple, then file it in my locked filing cabinet until I require the file for use. It is returned to the locked filing cabinet when I finish with it, on each occasion.  This provides security for the document and for my couples, as it can never be lost or mixed into another couple's file and as a Celebrant who cares about the privacy of all my couples, your privacy is guaranteed by this method.

On the day of the rehearsal & of the ceremony: I will bring that couple's document wallet with me, ensuring that if there are any changes to the couple's details, that I can legally update the NOIM before the ceremony, then fully complete it for lodgement with Births, Deaths and Marriages on the day of the ceremony.

What tasks does a celebrant perform?

What are some of the things we could lean on our celebrant for, apart from the actual ceremony?

GEM Professional Celebrancy

As a Celebrant, I see my role as being 'everything' for your ceremony, then beyond if YOU wish.  With a laid-back, yet organised and easy to work with style, I provide you with a comprehensive 'Welcome Pack' at our first meeting, and as we go through it, we get to know each other so that I may create your perfect bespoke ceremony and you will have confidence in me.  I give you confidence that I will create 'that' perfect ceremony, that I will include your input and will support you both, from our first meeting by giving you sufficient information and advice about the process and confirm that I am available to you, to access any time.  I will seemlessly work in any special requests that you may have or require, help or advise you to write your personal vows and answer any questions that you may have.  It's my role to overcome any difficulties that may crop up before (or even during) the ceremony and even give you idea's on how to include someone extra in your ceremony.  I will offer other advice and optional extra's such as; being MC for your Reception, applying your your official BDM Marriage Certificate on your behalf and even hiring props such as a decorated arbor, to further enhance your day or to take away other stresses you may have about your upcoming ceremony.

For your ceremony, a rehearsal is included, plus I supply my P.A. and microphones, my covered signing table & chairs, all the legal paperwork submission and a pen, even a paperweight for outdoor ceremonies if the wind is blowing.  I play all your ceremonial music, unless you have a singer / band / DJ to do so.  I also deliver your ceremony as inconspicuously as possible, so I am not in all the photos of your special day and where appropriate banter with your guests if you wish a fun and laid back ceremony.
