The earlier the better, especially for spring and autumn weekends, which tend to book out first. Six to twelve months is ideal, but don’t panic if your date is sooner. Get in touch and I’ll always do my best to make it work.
By law we complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM), which must be lodged at least one calendar month (and no more than 18 months) before your wedding. On the day, you, your two witnesses and I sign the marriage certificates, and afterwards I register everything with Births, Deaths and Marriages. I’ll walk you through every step, so there’s nothing to stress about.
One hundred per cent, and I’d encourage it. Your vows are the heart of the ceremony. If the blank page feels a bit scary, I’ll give you prompts, examples and as much guidance as you’d like until they feel just right.
I’m based in Adelaide and marry couples right across the city and surrounding regions, from Hills vineyards to beachside venues. Planning something further afield? Let me know where and we’ll sort out the details.
Weddings rarely run to the exact minute, and that’s completely normal. I’ll keep things calm, roll with any hiccups and make sure your ceremony flows beautifully, rain, hail or shine. Staying unflappable is part of the gig.
Every wedding is different, so I keep things flexible. My Signature Love Story package starts at $1,000, with simpler options for elopements, legals-only ceremonies and vow renewals. Send me your date and a few details and I’ll put together a full rundown.
Depending on the package, that can cover our meetings, unlimited phone and email support, a ceremony rehearsal, PA and microphone hire, a fully personalised script, your printed vow cards, and lodgement of all the legal paperwork. I’ll walk you through exactly what’s included when we chat.
Most ceremonies run for around 20 to 30 minutes. That’s long enough to tell your story and handle the legal bits properly, but never so long that the guests start checking their watches. We’ll tailor the length to suit you.
I’d love to, but it’s not essential. I’m happy to meet at my place (charcuterie included), come to you, or catch up over Zoom, which is especially handy for interstate or overseas couples.
Completely up to you. As a civil celebrant I can create anything from a fully secular ceremony to one that weaves in the cultural rituals, readings or blessings that matter to you. Your ceremony, your rules.
Yes. PA and microphone hire is included in my Signature package, so your guests can actually hear the good bits. For other packages, just ask and I’ll sort it out.
Nope. You don’t need to be citizens or permanent residents to marry in Australia; you just need valid ID and to meet the standard legal requirements. If either of you was born overseas or has been married before, we’ll make sure the right documents are sorted.
To lock in your date I take an initial deposit, which is non-refundable, with the balance due before your big day. It’s all laid out clearly in your service agreement, so there are never any surprises.
Absolutely. Some of my favourite ceremonies are the intimate ones. Whether it’s just the two of you and a couple of witnesses or a small gathering of your nearest and dearest, you’ll get the same care as a big celebration.
