FAQ
This is one of the joys of choosing a Civil Celebrant to marry you, because you can be married literally anywhere - think a winery, forest, beach, barn, garden, hotel, scenic balcony of an air bnb.... the choice is yours.
Well the answer is this depends on what you decide to include. If you want a simple "legals only" ceremony with no frills, it can take less than 20 minutes. But as you add elements, like the entrance of your crew, flower people, your story, personal vows, a reading, a ritual, guests pledges to enjoy or support you..........you see how it would extend out. In my experience couples like some personalisation but don't want the ceremony to take too long either and 30-45 minutes length is about right for this.
Your personal vows are your life long promises to each other and really are the heart of the ceremony. This is when it's most likely the tears will flow, or the giggles will set in, or both!! as it's a very emotional moment for you two and for your guests. For that reason, I always encourage couples to write personal vows, but you are not on your own doing this. Remember they don't need to be long or worthy of a literature prize. Simple and heartfelt is best. I can give you dot points to follow and heaps of lovely examples to get the creative juices flowing. If writing is a challenge or not your thing then we can have a verbal catch up, you can tell me what you want to convey and I will draft some lines for you. I'm here to help - yes even the night before!!!
