OVERVIEW

I will be there to guide you through every step of the way.

I welcome the opportunity to work with you and together we will make your wedding day a truly memorable occasion.

As your celebrant, I provide a portable PA system and cordless microphone for your ceremony.

Whatever elements you want to include in your Ceremony, we can build a Ceremony to suit your needs. You can choose to write your own vows, include several readings, include family traditions, ask friends or family to be involved, and choose whether or not to be given away.

Whether a traditional marriage ceremony or a commitment between two people, I can cater for your needs.

About

I have lived in the South Burnett area for 18 years after meeting my husband. During this time, I have met many people from all walks of life in both social and professional capacities. We are beef farmers and enjoy this lifestyle whilst raising our two children. My husband and I enjoy a wonderful marriage and I believe this was the underpinning of my desire to become a Marriage Celebrant. Personally, I believe wholeheartedly in marriage and the values that it encompasses.

FAQ

In terms of legal documentation for your marriage, you will need to fill out a Notice of Intended Marriage Form. This can only be officially lodged with me no earlier than 18 months and no later than one month before the date of the marriage.  You also need to provide proof of identification, address and eligibility to marry during this time.

Shortening of the statutory period (1 month) of notice under the Marriage Act can only be granted in extraordinary circumstances as per below:

  • Employment-related or other travel commitments
  • Wedding or celebration arrangements, or religious considerations
  • Medical reasons
  • Legal proceedings
  • Error in giving notice

In most cases, no.  The minimum marriageable age in Australia is 18 years.  However, if one party is 18 or over and the other is still a minor, AND if the following two requirements can be met, a celebrant may be able to solemnise the marriage:

  1. A judge or magistrate has made an order authorising the person to marry a particular person of marriageable age (over 18 years); and
  2. The required consents (usually parental) have been given to the marriage.

A marriage occurring in Australia may be solemnised on any day, at any time, and at any place.  The marriage must be registered in the State or Territory where the marriage was solemnised.

Yes!  I predominately service the South Burnett in Queensland, however I am more than happy to travel to your preferred location in Australia.  A travel fee will apply dependent on the distance I will need to travel the availability of transport to the location of your wedding .

I generally arrive at least 30 minutes before the bride is due to arrive at the venue.  This gives me a chance to set up and test my PA system and organise all the documents and witnesses for signing.

Your ceremony is an opportunity to express your love, your relationship and make a powerful affirmation about your future.

I can give you lots of ideas, resources and guidance and help you to build  a ceremony that works for you, this is your day so there is no one size fits all with weddings.

Working through the process is  fun, and sometimes insightful..

There are three components of the ceremony that must be adhered to:

  • You must say Vows to one another that contain a certain statement
  • The celebrant must recite the Monitum
  • You must be declared husband and wife in marriage.

Together we make the ceremony  a WOW experience.

It is important to feel relaxed and confident your ceremony is in safe hands, so you can truly enjoy your day.
