What colour suits for the boys in the bridal party?

We have 2 bridesmaids wearing pale ‘cornflower’ blue for a modern boho beach wedding, we have 4 groomsmen and the groom wants a blue suit but I don’t know what kind of blue, and if it will clash with the girls dressed.. I think a clean white shirt would be best, but don’t know what colour ties. The flowers r natives pinks grey and green.

A blue suit for the groom and groomsmen will work beautifully with your bridesmaids' pale cornflower blue dresses, but choosing the right shade is key to keeping everything cohesive and stylish.

Suit Colours That Complement Pale Cornflower Blue:

  1. Deep Navy – A timeless, classic choice that provides contrast without clashing. It adds elegance and works well for a modern boho beach wedding.
  2. Dusty Blue or Slate Blue – A softer, more romantic shade that harmonises with the bridesmaids' dresses while keeping the look fresh.
  3. French Blue or Steel Blue – A mid-tone blue that sits between navy and dusty blue, modern yet relaxed for a beach setting.
  4. Light Blue or Ice Blue – A lighter, summery alternative for a fresh, airy feel. Best suited for daytime or more casual weddings.

Shirt & Tie Combinations:

  • A clean white shirt is a great choice for a crisp, classic look.
  • Tie Colours That Work Well:
    • Soft grey or silver – Elegant and neutral, letting the blue tones shine.
    • Muted pink or dusty rose – A romantic nod to the pinks in your native flowers.
    • Sage green – Ties into the natural greens in the florals and keeps the look earthy.
    • Navy (if using a lighter suit) – Adds contrast while staying sophisticated.

Final Styling Touches:

  • Pocket squares in a coordinating colour (grey, soft pink, or sage green) will help pull everything together.
  • Consider brown or tan shoes for a more relaxed beach vibe or black shoes for a more formal look.

A well-balanced blue palette will complement your bridesmaids' dresses while keeping the groom’s suit distinct. If you’d like help refining the look, feel free to reach out at hello@modusoperandisydney.com.au—we’d love to assist!

What one person likes another doesnt and so everyone can tell you what colour you should wear but until you see it, you wont know if you like it or not.

My suggestion would be to book in for a Free Groom Styling Session at Just For Him.   Bring one of the bridesmaids dresses with you and then you can see how it looks next to all the different options that have been suggested to you.

One option that has not been suggested is for the groom to wear a 'Sand' coloured suit teamed with a Blue tie / accessories. As blue is currently the 'in' colour, many of your guests may be wearing blue so if the Groom / Groomsmen want to stand out, the lighter Sand tones will not only be a point of difference but it also suits the beach and boho theme.

Feel free to phone us on 9630 6000 to book in for a Free Groom Styling Session - your eyes will tell you what looks good - no one else can !!

Hi

I would suggest varying the colours tonally, meaning if the girls are in cornflower blue then opting for a slightly darker blue.

Another way is to have sportsjackets (Blue) with trousers (sand or beige), that way you can change the groomsmen's outfit without effecting the grooms outfit. This is a nice way to add interest and other tones without overloading on the blue theme.

Best regards

Hi  there

Any blue suit will look nice with the cornflower blue of the bridemaids.

I would suggest the groom will have an Ivory tie and the groomsman try to match the colour of the bridemaids dresses.

That should look nicely coordinated.

Hope to be of service

As you are having a boho beach wedding, I would suggest a brighter blue like the Marine from Studio Italia, this will compliment the dresses very well, and tie in with your theming.

Opting for braces or vests, instead of jackets, will make the look more casual overall. I would advise getting the jackets for formal photo's if you wanted them.

There are many other options, just speak to your suit specialist, and we will be able to asssit you further.

Hi,

Wolf Kanat actually has a Marine Suit - which is a grey / blue colour which I think would be perfect for your overall look.

However if the Grooman are content on Blue suits I would suggest a darker blue or Navy to make the Bridesmaid dresses pop more in photos.

Pale pink ties look great on blue and Navy suits and white shirts. They also suit all complections. They will go back with your flower colour also.

Good luck Wolf.
