A Tuxedo is definteily not dated, however the cut of the tuxedo can make it look dated. 

I would recommend a more modern fit/silhouette to the tuxedo, and 2 buttons on the front of the jacket (insead of 3, which is an older style).

Not at all majority of grooms go with a tuxedo the look is classic and timeless.

A tuxedo is very definitely used still today. It all depends on how formal the event is. Black tie requires a tuxedo

Not at all! A texedo is our most common suit sold for grooms :)
