We had the absolute pleasure of having Flora as our celebrant for our backyard wedding this April, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect person to guide us through such an important day. From the very beginning, Flora was incredibly responsive, organised, and easy to communicate with. It also helped that she is based in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs near us, so we were able to meet in person a few times before the wedding. Those meetings helped us feel comfortable and prepared leading up to the day. One of our key requirements for a celebrant was finding someone who could speak both Mandarin and English as there were a number of guests whose primary language was Mandarin and had very limited English. Flora delivered a beautiful multilingual ceremony for us in English and Mandarin, while also providing Cantonese summaries so both sides of our family felt included and connected throughout. This meant that (especially as my family only speaks Mandarin ) the entire experience for all was so much more meaningful and smooth. The most unforgettable part of the ceremony was when Flora read out family letters to our parents in their native languages (Mandarin for my side and Cantonese for the groom’s). It was such a heartfelt and emotional moment — there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd! Flora struck the perfect balance in her delivery — warm, lively, and engaging, while still maintaining a sense of formality where it mattered. She created an intimate, family-oriented atmosphere that reflected us perfectly. She ran a rehearsal with us beforehand and met members of our bridal party and family. This made the day run so smoothly and helped everyone feel at ease as we got the opportunity to iron out key details with everyone beforehand. If you’re looking for a celebrant who is thoughtful, professional, and able to genuinely connect with both you and your guests — especially for multicultural weddings — we cannot recommend Flora enough. She made our ceremony incredibly special, and we’re so grateful to have had her as part of our day. Thank you Flora!!!
