Teen romance doesn’t always end in heartbreak!
Twenty-six year old Kim Burrows and James Hedison, 25 met at work in their younger years. Their love quickly blossomed and they are now proud parents of a son, Blake. “After being engaged for seven years, we decided it was finally time!” says the bride.
A beach wedding at Rockingham Foreshore and yacht club on March 1, 2014 was attended by 80 guests, some travelling from overseas to attend. Kim’s bridesmaids wore champagne gold-coloured one-shoulder dresses. “They complemented the elegant beach theme perfectly,” she says.
After walking down the aisle to Train’s “Marry Me”, Kim’s parents were quick to do their bit. “When asked ‘who gives this woman away to marry this man?’ both my parents leapt up to shout ‘we do!’” laughs Kim.
Guests were entertained with some fun icebreaker ideas from the bride and groom. “We put plenty of effort into making sure our wedding was enjoyed by all,” says Kim. “We arranged a game of Horses, Knights and Cavaliers as a way to get all the guests talking after everyone had enjoyed a drink or two.”
“The beach wedding ceremony had a religious feel with Genesis 2:18-24 being read out before we exchanged wedding vows,” says Kim.
“It’s true! The dress definitely chooses you and once I put this one on I knew that it was the one,” smiles Kim.
Kim says the venue was so impressed with her photos they asked to use them in an advertisement.
