Ruby and Stuart’s Castaway Island Resort
When Ruby and Stuart envisioned their wedding, they knew they wanted something different from a ballroom, formal affair. With the help of Destination by Easy Weddings, they found their perfect setting at Castaway Island Resort in Fiji.
A place where white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and lush island foliage paint a perfect tropical picture, Castaway Island Resort is straight from a postcard.

The resort itself was ideal for the relaxed couple. Home to 66 traditional bungalow-style bures with thatched roofs, the couple and their guests were treated to a true island escape.
On the wedding day, Ruby was the picture of island elegance, in a white gown that complemented the beautiful surrounds. Stuart leaned into the carefree spirit of the destination with a cream linen suit and Birkenstock – a look that set the tone for the barefoot-beach theme. Their children were part of the celebration, bringing extra sweetness and heartfelt meaning to the ceremony.
At sunset, with the pristine Fijian ocean sparkling behind them, the couple exchanged vows before a laid-back photo session with the two lounging on beach hammocks, enjoying a local beer. These quiet moments together capture Ruby and Stuart’s easygoing nature and love for island life.
The evening settled in, and the guests gathered for the perfect Fiji celebration: barefoot and in the sand.
Castaway Island offers multiple reception settings, from the open-air Mokimokiti Cabana — a thatched, all-weather shelter with 360-degree views — to the stunning 1808 Restaurant, where chefs cook right before your eyes.
For Ruby and Stuart, a relaxed dinner under the stars with a fully stocked bar and a beautiful semi-nude cake (cut with the help of their little ones) was on the agenda. Shoes were kicked off, and the party carried on with everyone’s feet in the sand.
Ruby and Stuart chose a relaxed dinner under the stars, complemented by a fully stocked bar and a beautiful semi-nude cake (cut with the help of their little ones). Shoes were abandoned, laughter filled the night, and the celebration carried on with feet in the sand.
Castaway Island Resort doesn’t just host weddings — it creates once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Reception catering offers both plated dining and buffet feasts of vibrant local dishes. Beyond the celebrations, guests can indulge in traditional island massages at Vale ni Vebobo, dive into water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding, or even take a boat trip to Modriki Island, the famous set of Castaway.
For Ruby and Stuart, it was everything they dreamed of: a relaxed, family-focused wedding where romance met adventure, and everyone could enjoy a true slice of Fijian paradise.
