Laura Price and Simon Friend first said ‘aloha’ at a Hawaiian-themed dress-up party.
Not even the bright patterned dress her future husband was wearing on the night could put Laura, 32, off!
“We just clicked,” she explains.
After almost seven years of dating, Simon, 31, popped the question at the couple’s Perth home.
They then began planning a classic black and white wedding.
Laura and Simon wed on April 12, 2014 at Perth’s Council House Gardens, which provided a gorgeous outdoor location in the heart of the city.
The intimate gathering of 70 guests then went on to celebrate at Lamont’s Bishop House.
“It was the perfect blend of a garden wedding within a city setting,” Laura says.
The bride says one of their best decisions was opting for “first look” photographs before the ceremony.
“We got to spend time together, cool our nerves, pass on gifts and talk to each other about each other’s morning,” she says.

During the couple’s “first look”, Simon presented Laura with a book that compiled all the things the couple had done in their seven years together, accompanied by a music soundtrack.
A drinks stand added a quirky touch to the ceremony at Perth’s Council House Gardens.
The reception was held in a marquee set on the Lamont’s Bishop House grounds. “The black and white striped theme was continued in the set-up here and we used room lighting and candles to create a more intimate atmosphere,” Laura says.
